Delirium signed when Paris asked where to sign. He was hoping she would come to her senses and back out. Apparently, she had no sense in that stupid little head of hers. “There's a bit more to it than that. First, you sign in blood. Your blood.”
Paris held out her hand to the demon, and she smiled, “Take what you need, my pet.”
Delirium wanted to rip her radial artery open with his teeth. Feeling her warm blood pump onto his face would be almost erotic. He'd never taken any joy from killing innocent humans before, but his hatred for this girl was growing by the second. He hated being called a pet, and he hated being owned. He felt like a caged lion as he forced his anger down.
The nail on Delirium's pointer finger grew longer and sharper as he gripped Paris's wrist with his other hand. He had to work extremely hard to hold her gently instead of snapping her wrist like a twig. Delirium poked her finger with his nail and pushed a tad deeper than needed just for fun. Paris made a small yip but didn't pull away.
“Sign here.” Delirium pointed to a line at the bottom of the contract, then he put his hand over it as he looked at Paris. “You need to be absolutely sure about this. One hundred percent. There's no going back, Paris. If you do this, your soul goes to Hell and belongs to...”
Paris grabbed Delirium's hair tightly in her hand and yanked his face to hers. She glared into his eyes as she hissed, “You're going to learn my rules even if I have to beat them into you. I asked a question, and you answered it. After that, you keep those pretty lips of yours shut. Slip again, and I'll punish you, got it?” Paris didn't let him go as they stared at each other.
Delirium was at first surprised when she yanked him to her, and then he was furious. His eyes darkened again to a heavy navy blue, and when she threatened him with punishment, his eyes flashed with the lightning Felicia had witnessed before. The only thing keeping her from harm was the deal. He couldn't do anything now except obey her commands. He had no physical control over it. The magic of a demon's deal forced the demon to follow through with their part. No matter what. If Paris wanted to whip him until he passed out, he could do nothing to stop her. He belonged to her.
Paris tightened her grip in his hair as she shook his head a little, “Hello! I demand you answer me when I ask you a question!”
“Paris, stop! You're hurting him!” Felicia yelled as she ran to them and put her hand over Paris's. “Please, don't hurt him anymore.”
Delirium gritted his teeth as he battled himself for control over his rage, “I understand.” He growled out as he stared Paris down.
“Good boy.” Paris shoved his head away as if it were a pesky balloon in her face.
Felicia hugged his head to her chest protectively as she blinked furiously, trying not to let her tears fall. “Paris, please. Don't do this. Don't sign that. You're damming your soul to Hell. Don't you get that?”
Delirium didn't pull away from Felicia. Her cradling his head was comforting, and he had no idea if he would ever be allowed comfort again.
“Get away from my pet, Felicia. He's not yours anymore, remember?”
“He is. He'll always be mine. There's nothing you can do to change that.”
“Let's see about that.” Paris pulled the contract over to her and used her bleeding finger to sign her name where Delirium had told her. “Done. He's mine now. Back off.”
Not wanting a fight, Delirium pulled from Felicia and gave her a sad smile, “Thank you, Felicia. But I have a favor to ask. Please go upstairs now. I beg you.”
