After the end of yet another practice, Olivia sat packing up her medical bag as KK and Paige approached her. "Olivia girlll, come to lunch with us!" KK said, her and Paige standing over Olivia. As Paige bends down and begins helping Olivia clean up, they both reach for the medical tape.
Their hands meet, and Olivia looks up, her eyes meeting Paige's. "You should come. We're getting Chipotle." Paige says, not moving her hand that is still on top of Olivia's. Slightly flustered, Olivia replies "I don't know, I don't want to intrude on y'all's team lunch." closing the med kit and standing up.
"Trust me, you're not. We want you to come" Paige says. "I don't have my car, my friend dropped me off." Olivia said.
This wasn't a lie. Jess had dropped her off at practice today because she had class anyway. It wasn't that Olivia didn't want to get lunch, in fact she was actually starving, but she hadn't really talked to many of the girls since they met and wasn't sure if she would be comfortable hanging out with all of them yet.
"Good thing I have a car! I'll drive you." said Paige with a smile. Well...team lunch it is. "Okay...well I'll be back I need to go put this up" Olivia said holding up the med kit. "I'm out. I'll see y'all at the restaurant." KK said walking off with Ice.
"Here I'll put the med kit up, you just wait right here." Paige said taking it out of her hands before Olivia even got the chance to protest.
Just from observing this past week and a half, Olivia could tell Paige was a good person. She was constantly going out of her way to preform small favors for everyone, like she had just done for Olivia. She reminded her a lot of Jess and she thought the two would get along well.
When Paige returned the two walked out of the gym and into the parking lot together. Paige rushed ahead to get open the car door for Olivia.
"After you." She said playfully as Olivia chuckled. "Thank you." She replied, giggling. Paige circled the car and got in on the other side.
Paige typed their destination into the GPS and handed Olivia her phone. "You can queue some songs. It's kind of a long drive." she said turning to her before putting the car in drive.
Olivia hated "being on aux". She never knew what songs to play and didn't want people to not like the music she played. She went with a couple safe options like SZA and Drake and handed the phone back to Paige.
"So now that it's just us, how are you really liking this new job?" Paige said, glancing at her before focusing her eyes back on the road. Olivia thought for a second before responding.
She honestly hadn't taken the time to think about this herself. It was nearing two weeks since she started, but things weren't really feeling official.
She liked the girls and everyone on the coaching staff, but she didn't feel like a real part of the team. However, she knew that it was only a matter of time until she would.
