"He did what??" Josh turned fully around in the passenger seat of the van as it bumped along the road, his eyes widening when they landed on Jake directly behind him. Jake rolled his eyes at his twin's theatrics.

"He recorded it." Jake returned his attention to his attempt at replacing a string on his Gibson whilst they drove to a show. The task was impeccably difficult in the back seat of an already overly stuffed van, and he had to utilize half of Sam's lap to prop the guitar up, but Jake knew he wouldn't have time fix it once they got to the venue. They were already running late.

"He recorded it... all of it... without our permission?" Josh's mouth hung open.

"Don't be so dramatic..." Jake muttered as he coiled the top E string around it's corresponding tuning peg.

"Does anyone else see a problem with this? This stranger recorded us without our permission?" Josh looked from Sam to Danny in the drivers seat, who shrugged.

"I don't particularly mind... I thought the song was cool." Danny offered.

"Yeah, besides... technically, he didn't record you... so he didn't need your permission, Josh." Sam smiled, his Michigan accent drawing through his big brother's name, hoping to ease the tension with humor. Josh groaned loudly, dropping his head back against the seat and closing his eyes.

"Am I the only one who is even slightly concerned about the legal logistics of all of this?" He pinched the bridge of his nose, his brow furrowing.

"Yes..." Jake replied casually, "and Alex isn't a stranger, he's a friend. Avery is a friend. We recorded a demo for our friends..."

"Your friends..." Josh corrected without opening his eyes.

"My friends too!" Sam grinned.

"Come on, man. It's just a demo... nothing will come of it, and if it does, I'm sure they'll credit us as a collaborator." Danny reached over to gently nudge Josh's shoulder with the back of his hand.

"They better... if something does come of it, it could explode..." Josh swiped his hand down his face. Jake chuckled.

"You liked the song..." He mumbled through the laugh, and Josh shot back around, throwing a hand in the air.

"Of course I did, it was fantastic! Why do you think I'm worried?" His eyes were still frenzied.

"Nothing will come of it." Danny said again, shrugging.

"We'll see..." Jake was still smiling, his voice almost too low to hear.

"What?" Sam and Danny asked simultaneously.

"What the fuck did you just say?" Josh twisted around even harder in his seat. Danny kept stealing confused glances at Jake through the rear view mirror. Sam, who was also confused, couldn't help but smile at the way Jake was unable to contain his own grin.
