"Why the hurry, pretty girl?" he asked, trying not to slur his words. He looked so utterly drunk but he looked happy. Vivek, she thought, was the kind of person to work his ass off and enjoy the money he made. Ritvik, on the other hand, planned for the future. He was mostly the type of the guy who thought about his pension and would have surely invested in the stock market.
She wasn't judging. She had not made money in her life anyways.
"If you were looking for the bathroom, Arushi, it's over there," Vivek said, pointing near the gaming room. "Also, I think it's fate, you know, you coming here and us bonding. We are meant to be." he said it with such confidence, Arushi almost laughed. But she couldn't hurt the poor drunk boy.
"You might be right about the fate part, but believe me brother, you and I are pakka NOT meant to be." She turned toward the bathroom and removed herself from that conversation.
She stepped into the brightly lit room and was surprised no one was puking in the surroundings. It seemed very quiet and serene. There were even two snake plants beside the sink. Arushi booked a cab to the airport and splashed water on her face. She felt normal, but didnt at the same time. She blamed it on the beer.
When she went back out, Ritvik had found her. Like the nice guy he was, he asked " You alright? Randomly chali gayi. Agar kuch chahiye toh, you can ask me." she nodded. Not because she was alright but because she couldn't figure out what to say.
This guy had eyes that were a pain to look at. Too light to be brown, but too dark to be black. But the concern those eyes held for her at that moment, she could feel without looking too.
