"What in the hell?" Sir Pentious was about to curse out loud, but he paused immediately. A thought occurred to him that made his eyes flicker over to Emily.

The seraph had patiently been quiet beside him the entire time. They have been waiting for what could now have been hours, counting the seconds and minutes as to when the meeting of the high order of angels will ever end. It was unbearable, taking them forever. Sir Pentious wondered what they could even be talking about-that it's taking them so long to finish. The newly redeemed sinner could no longer keep waiting. His hands surged with an insufferable itch gnawing at his scaly skin. It made him unconsciously scratch at them out of anxiety. His body had become restless, with his eyes constantly shuffling from the door to the orb. The glowing blank orb held the answers to his troubled queries. He had been fighting off the urge to just run over to it and yell at it to show him his friends left in hell. Sir Pentious wasn't sure yet if the orb functioned in voice command. He hasn't asked Emily how to use it, in fear of their whispers being heard by the high-ranking angels still having their meeting just a room away from where they were.

Emily gave him a confused look upon making eye contact. She blinked her bright purple-blue eyes at him in question. She noted his anxious body language.

"I-I mean, what in the Heavensss...?" Sir Pentious tested in a low whisper, looking over at Emily with a questioning look.

Since he was now in heaven and not in hell, it seemed wrong to curse or swear, especially in the presence of someone like Emily. She had been so nice and kind to him. She definitely looked like someone who never cursed or never even heard a curse word in her entire existence. He didn't want to be the one who exposed her to cursing. So, he was being careful with his word choices. Upon seeing Emily's innocently confused face, he figured it was the right thing to say.

"Yessss! What in the heaven isss taking thisss meeting ssso long?" Sir Pentious said, although it kind of sounded so wrong to phrase it that way, but fuck it, he already said it.

"I'm so sorry, Sir Pentious. It's always been like this. When the angel leaders have their meetings, it always takes so long, but this meeting is somehow taking longer than usual. I think it's because the archangels are here for the first time that it's taking even longer," Emily explained. "The archangels have never attended these meetings. I'm guessing because of these exterminations being made known that it has caused a stir among Heaven. They're most probably talking about it right now."

Suddenly, they heard the sound of doors opening.

"I think they're done!" Emily whispered in excitement. She looked at Sir Pentious with wide, gleaming eyes and pressed her head to the door to listen.

From the other side, she could hear footsteps and the flapping of wings from the leader angels coming out of the meeting room. She also heard murmurs or whispers-some lingering conversations from the meeting the angels had that Emily couldn't quite understand as they were a bit too incoherent for her.

And then she heard it.

"Sera."

With the powerful voice of Michael, she heard him call for the seraphim leader, followed by something she couldn't make out after. And then she heard the doors to the meeting room close once again.

"Sera?" Emily whispered out a question mixed with worry.

It seemed that the meeting had ended, but Sera had been called back in. Emily wondered why. A look towards Sir Pentious reminded her of the possible answer as to why.

Of course, Sera might have been called back in because of the casualties and shock that came from the revelation of these bloody exterminations. The archangels possibly had no knowledge and were questioning the High Seraphim about it; that's what Emily was thinking.
