"Right, that's it for today guys!" Mr Brown clapped his hands signalling for us to pack up and leave. I was beginning to really enjoy Ecology, there was something so fascinating about it and the way Mr Brown teaches makes it so easy to actually listen.

Well that, and the fact that he doesn't have the attitude of a sour lemon. Unlike some other professors.

I pack up my things and make sure to say goodbye to Mr Brown on my way out. He offers me a quick smile before returning to speak to another student.

He's sweet, I like him. I just wish my lesson with Ms Cain will go as smooth as his one did, but I know that will not be the case.

"It'll be alright, Rory. Just focus on your work rather than her, okay?" Jen comforts me as she places a hand on my shoulder. "Everything will be fine." She smiles.

"Thanks, Jen. I hope that you're right." I give her a small smile back.

We made our way into the room amongst the herd of some other students. I could feel her eyes already plastered onto me but I know ignoring it would be the best option.

'Just get through it.' I tell myself. As I sat down at my desk, she started to speak, her voice as plain and pissed off as ever.

"Right!" She claps her hands together, making everyone and me included, jump a bit.

"I really can't be asked to deal with you lot today, so I am going to give you all a sheet of questions. If you get any of them wrong you will stay behind and you will tell me why you can't answer simple geography. You are allowed to have your  textbooks, but if you copy the answers word for word, I will know and you will have to redo it all in detention!" She sits down and points to a girl at the back of the class.

"You. Come here and hand everyone each a sheet of paper." As she looks down to the laptop in front of her our eyes meet. Yet, there's nothing. It's like she's just watching over her students making sure they aren't getting into any trouble. That's all I am to her now. Just a student.

Our staring is over quickly as the girl passing around the papers stands in front of my desk, obscuring my view of Ms Cain.

She offers me a quick smile before handing me a sheet of questions.

A few minutes pass before Ms Cain starts speaking again.

"Has everyone got a sheet of questions?" Her voice echoes throughout the room whilst her eyes scan over us. Her gaze refusing to land on me.

"I'll take the silence as a yes. Right then, you may begin. If I hear anyone talking, you'll be getting a detention. So, don't test me." The last part was quieter than the rest, but I can't imagine she only wanted me to hear it.

I flipped over the sheet, only to see some of the hardest questions I have ever seen. Did she write these just to mess with me?! This is ridiculously hard.

I let out a small sigh of frustration and looked up to see if anyone else seemed like they were struggling.

"Eyes on your own work, Miss Clark." I looked over at the woman in front of me. Her leg was crossed over the other one and she was looking at me above her reading glasses. I felt my throat constrict at the sight of her.

I rolled my eyes at her. The most I could do was at least act like a student, especially since she can't do anything to me now. If she wants this to be over, I may as well play the part.

I heard her scoff as I turned my attention back to the questions in front of me. I couldn't keep myself from smiling slightly, knowing that whatever she tried to do then, didn't work in her favour.
