Zodiacs on the Beach: Rival Companies ~ Libra (f) x Gemini (m)

Setting: Both Libra and Gemini (CEOs of Astrophel and Donati respectively) are competing to make their newest product the highest sold item in the makeup industry. They both try to gain the attention of Algonia's biggest businessman to ensure their products rise in popularity and tensions rise on their way up the elevator to that meeting. 

Third Person POV: 

Aries, Algonia's news reporter, alongside Leo, speaking on the upcoming arrival of Astrophel's and Donati's cosmetics products.

Astrophel and Donati are companies that have shaped the makeup industry in Algonia for over a decade. From the decadent presentation of Astrophel's cosmetics kits to the formulaic age-regressing bottles of Donati's skincare line, people often scramble to try the first samples of their products. The rave of both of these companies leave the CEOs to be in constant competition with no promise of working together, which many cosmetics journalists believe could be their downfall in the near future, as both Libra and Gemini have respective ideas when it comes to cosmetics that would work beautifully together. 

Speaking of, Libra has just launched her new lineup of makeup kits: Cosmic Come to Life, featuring duo chrome shades of eyeshadow in pinks, purples, blues, and greens. At the same time, Gemini launched his first ever star-themed skincare products that make your skin glow like the milky way. 

As we speak, Libra and Gemini are making their way up to Algonia's tallest skyscraper, Angel Heights, for a meeting with the biggest businessman in the world, Astra Gamora. With a chance to showcase their hard work at the same time, who will rise to the top? 

Libra POV:

Carrying my briefcase of my Cosmic Come to Life products, I make my way to the front of Angel Heights, and enter the building with one goal in mind: Astra Gamora choosing my makeup products to sell across the world. As a successful businessman, I can only assume he gets international clients on a daily basis, and boosting my makeup this way will get me an edge in the cosmetics industry in Algonia. 

Unless Gemini comes in the way of my plans with his skincare lineup. I have to admit, I have used his products before, and can't deny the fact that his formula works splendidly. My skin has never felt so smooth in my life, and now that I am actually facing against him, I'm not so sure my makeup will come up to par with his. It doesn't help that he's naturally charismatic as well, persuading others left and right to do his bidding. His voice is like velvet yet silky with the right amount of husk that leaves you thinking about it well after a conversation. 

I must be out of my mind lusting for a man I'm supposed to compete with. This is what happens when you've been single all your life, you start romanticizing your rival. 

I shake my head at the thought of him and enter the elevator, pressing the button for the top floor. As the doors close, I see a hand go through, reopening the elevator again to reveal Gemini Volta. He steps inside and stands right beside me as the doors close all the way and the elevator starts to move.

Great. Now I'll think about him even more. Although I don't think I should deny the fact that I like it. 

I turn my head slightly towards him to check him out. I notice he's curled his straight hair, wore a navy blue suit and light blue tie that matched his eyes, and is carrying a briefcase like I am. He looks classy and clean, I realize, a look he usually goes for in his everyday outings that I see in the paper. 

"You seem to like what you see. Even from the reflection on the elevator I can see you blushing" Gemini blurts out. 

My eyes go to my reflection and see that he's right. I'm blushing red, a color not even my blush brings out. Embarrassed, I quickly turn back to face the front of the elevator and move hair to the side of my face, hoping he doesn't notice. 

Gemini POV:

I notice. I also notice she wore her hair differently. It's always up in a ponytail but today she has it half-up/half-down, and I think it suits her. Her dress is long and sage, complimenting her hair and eye color. She looks cute and even more adorable when she blushes like that. 

I decide to tease her. 

"You don't have to hide from me, Lib. I know you have a thing for me"

"Ugh! Will you stop that?! You know I don't! So shove your ego up your-"

I cut her off with a laugh. I always liked getting her riled up like this, she makes it too easy. 

"You don't have to be so defensive, sweetheart" I smirk at her. 

"Stop calling me names" She mumbles, but she's looking to the side and twirling her hair. She really needs to stop contradicting herself. 

"You know you like it. Listen, I have a feeling you like me the same way as I do to you, so how about we grab a cup of coffee after this? The drinks are on me"

She stops and looks up at me, presumably weighing out her options, slowly smiling to myself because I know she loves coffee from all of the fan articles I read of hers. 

"Maybe I will. I've been dying to try the new special at Starstrucks for a while now" 

Seeing her be so serious about a date I planned makes me feel giddy inside. So much so that I take her hand and walk out of the elevator when we reach our floor. It takes her back by surprise, but she doesn't let go. 

She liked the thought of having me after all.

One week later...

Yes, I'm back! I'm sorry for the long delay, and how it took me a year at most to come back with a new story 😭. With writer's block and transitioning into college, I haven't found the time to really sit down and write a wonderful love story. Needless to say, I have two more couples' stories lined up for the "Zodiacs on the Beach" pairings with Pisces (f) x Capricorn (m) and Aquarius (f) x Scorpio (m).
