in which joao and y/n had broken up months ago after his game with barca, and ever since then he's waited on the pitch after his games, in hopes that she'd show up for him one day.

Y/n had broken up with Joao 4 months ago, after his match against Las Palmas. She loved him very much, but with moving to France for her job, she didn't think that they would handle the long distance.
They were both heartbroken, but Joao more because he didn't want to break up. He wanted to stay with y/n, it didn't matter where she would be living. But he couldn't force her to stay, and he had to let her go.
The past 4 months, y/n had been working with a marketing company in France. It was one of the best marketing jobs that could be given to someone, and she really couldn't turn down that kind of opportunity.
However, her heart ached for Joao everyday. Her dream job was everything to her, but she was starting to realize that Joao was worth even more than that.
Even though y/n was the one that broke up with Joao, she would try her best to watch all of his games when she could. The tiktoks on her fyp were all about Joao, her instagram explore page was full of Joao's fan accounts, and her twitter was full of any kind of Barcelona news.
She wanted to see how he was doing, her heart always felt so full when she would see Joao score, and she just missed him so so much.
And in Barcelona, Joao was heartbroken. The guys noticed how not having y/n around was affecting him. And they saw how Joao would stay out on the pitch longer than everyone else, looking around, hoping to see the girl he loved.
Pedri, Gavi, and Fermin tried to help him out as best they could, but it was no use, Joao would wait for y/n, however long it would take.
Barcelona had just finished their game against Atletico de Madrid, and Joao had managed to score against them. Everyone was happy because they had won 3-1, and everyone had gone to congratulate Joao after the game.
Everyone had already left the pitch and gone into the tunnel, but Pedri and Gavi stayed behind to speak with Joao for a little.
Joao was untying his laces on the field, when he felt a presence approach him. He looked up to see both Pedri and Gavi standing above him.
