Amara slowly opened her eyes and instantly started panicking, finding herself in an unknown room. There were white walls with some sort of print on them. As she was staring at them, a distinct hue of crimson had burned into her vision, slowly swirling until it blended in with the ceiling. As she started to regain her consciousness, she realized she was in a hospital bed. She felt an oxygen mask strapped to her mouth and struggled to take it off, screaming for help. However, a wave of vertigo soon struck her, and she could no longer move. Suddenly, a nurse walked in with an off-setting smile,
"Oh good you're finally awake, my name is Barbara, and I'm your nurse."The nurse took off Amara's mask and Amara yelled, "Why am I here? Please, I need to go now!""You can't leave, you have a very serious injury. It seems like something, or someone attacked you. Don't worry though, the police are on the case, you're safe now." She said with an empathetic voice. "You have a guest here to see you, so I'm going to open the door," Barbara told Amara slowly. The tone in her voice seemed very condescending as if she were babysitting Amara. Amara knew it was the nurse's job, however this irritated Amara nevertheless because it made her feel as if she thought that Amara was insignificant. However, Amara let it slide, because she had other things to worry about at the moment.
"Okay, let her in." Amara replied. Her worries soon started to drift away when she saw that Evelyn walked into the room. Evelyn ran to Amara and broke down in tears beside the bed. "I was so worried Amara, what were you thinking? Why didn't you run?" "I couldn't leave them! Are the rest ok?"Evelyn looked to the floor that had once been flooded with tears of agony, "They're gone, all of them." "What?" Suddenly, Amara's breath shortened and her head went faint.
