Mia's POV"Why did you call me out here in the woods, and why so early? You know I had to ditch class to be here," I yelled.
"My guys have been caught, damn it," Ben roared, grabbing my shoulders violently. He released me and rubbed his temples continuously.
"I thought you said everything was under control," I snapped.
"Looks like they weren't careful. Do you know what that means?" He looked intently into my eyes.
"Listen here, you sick bastard. I paid you 700 euros to get the dirty work done. We agreed that any bad luck along the way was on you, not me. Carry your own cross and don't you dare come to me with this crap again," I said furiously.
"Don't test me, princess. No one talks to me like that. I can take you down as I go down. The owner of this school has my guys. I'm sure one of them will tell the truth. That means I'll be exposed, and so will you. Bragging with your money won't help," Ben said. Then he burst out laughing.
Oh God! I was in deep shit.
"I have an idea," I said proudly.
"An idea of screwing me over? Nice try." Ben chuckled.
"Just listen to me."
"Okay, go on, Mia." He folded his arms across his chest.
"When your guys confess to what they did, take all the blame and..."
"Oh," he laughed, clapping his hands. "You rich people think you can get away with everything. Let me tell you what will happen if they confess. I will be caught, and then my guys and I will lose our scholarships and end up in jail. I'm sure Lilibeth's parents are going to press charges. As for you, you have money. Your parents will just use money to get you out of this problem. The only thing that you'll lose is your good name. And if I take the blame, the same thing will happen to me and my guys, but you'll be clean. I'd rather see you lose something, no matter how insignificant it looks to me, than see you get away with it," he hissed.
"You didn't let me finish talking," I snapped.
"How are you so composed? Nothing scares you, princess?"
I laughed.
"Listen, Ben, you'll take the blame, but the consequences are going to be different from what you just told me." I smiled. "Of course, Lilibeth's parents are going to press charges. I'll get you guys the best lawyer. Then I'll bail you out. No one will follow up on what happens to you guys after your trials in court because of your social class. The school will have expelled you, definitely. Here's the best part: I'll give you a large sum of money. Then we'll never see each other again. How's that?" I raised my brows.
"What if you screw me over?" he inquired.
"If I do, you have a mouth. You'll just tell the truth. You still have our texts and call logs. And the 700 euros transaction to your account. That's evidence. And let me warn you, if you dare screw me over, I'll do the worst to you. You don't know what I'm capable of," I hissed.
"We have a deal." He extended his hand for me to shake it. I accepted.
"It's done," I said, turning around and walking away from him.
It wasn't that hard talking him out of telling on me. These low-class kids could always be bought with money. My mom was my partner in crime, so I had to let her in on my plan. Then we would figure out how to get money from my dad. My mom knew my good deeds and bad deeds. But as for my dad, I was a good girl. His princess. I always got what I wanted.
Kayla's POV
Grace and I went to the hospital to see Lily the weekend after her attack. That was the same day she was being discharged. The people who had attacked her had already been found. No further details were told to students about the attackers. All we knew was that they had been expelled and Lily's parents had pressed charges.
