Sergeant Steel commands respect like a seasoned general. His presence exuded strength and determination, with a sharp gaze that spoke volumes. Behind his stoic exterior laid a sharp mind and unwavering dedication to his mission. He didn't say much, but when he did, it was with purpose and weight, reflecting his commitment to excellence. Thought Olivia had a creative imagination which she let wander around sometimes. Soon everybody started getting bored asked the Sergeant for food, meanwhile Izzy (AKA Isabelle) took out a deck of cards from her backpack and asked everyone to join her in a game of Old Maid pretty soon everybody was playing except Ava and Audrey who were busy sleeping.
About half an hour or so of sitting in that bus-looking thing Sergeant Steel announced that they had arrived at the Steel Manor.
As the teens step off the bus, they are immediately greeted by the sight of Steel Manor, its imposing presence casting a shadow over them. Before they could fully take in their surroundings, the stern butler approached, his footsteps echoing on the pavement. It was around 2:45 according to Elijah's watch.
"Welcome back, Mr. Steel," he said with a respectful nod, his voice carrying the weight of years of service. "I take it that these are the children you rescued from Whispering Pines Academy?"
Sergeant Steel nods in confirmation, his expression unreadable. "Yes, they are," he replied quietly. "Thompson I would like you to escort the children to their rooms, please."
The butler, Thompson, inclines his head in acknowledgment before turning his attention to the teens. "Follow me, please," he says, gesturing towards the entrance of the manor. "Your rooms have been prepared, and dinner will be served shortly. I will come to your rooms to escort you, also please do not wander away from your rooms if you want to see things that you cannot forget."
As they followed Thompson inside Oliver wondered if Sergeant Steel had inherited this gorgeous manor or had he payed for it, if so how much.Oliver's long, jet-black hair cascades down to just above his eyes, adding an air of mystery to his already intriguing demeanour. It's like he's hiding behind a curtain of darkness, but when he looks at you with those piercing eyes, you can't help but feel drawn in. Despite his edgy appearance, Oliver is surprisingly approachable, always quick with a joke or a friendly smile. He's the kind of guy who brings a sense of excitement to any situation, effortlessly blending charm with a hint of rebelliousness.
Meanwhile they meandered through the corridors of Steel Manor, Jade leaned close to Ava, her voice barely above a whisper. "There's something off about this place, Ava," she murmured, her brow furrowed with concern.
Ava glanced around nervously, her eyes darting to the shadows that seemed to dance in the dim light. "I know what you mean," she replied, her voice tight with unease. "It's like there's a strange energy here, like the past and present are all tangled up together."
Jade nodded, her gaze fixed on the grandeur of their surroundings. "Exactly," she agreed. "And did you notice how new everything looks, despite the ancient exterior? It's like there's a secret lurking beneath the surface. It also feels like someone has lived here for years from the outside but from the inside everything looks brand new."
Ava shivered, a chill running down her spine. "I don't like it," she admitted quietly. "I can't shake the feeling that we're not alone here."
By the time this conversation was over they had reached the corridor to where they were staying it was two very huge rooms that were connected to each other.
The first room, bathed in warm sunlight and adorned with vibrant decor, guests lounged on plush sofas and armchairs. Colourful artwork adorned the walls, adding a lively touch to the space, while large windows provided a picturesque view of the surrounding landscape. Near the windows, on the table, a tempting array of snacks awaited, including fresh fruits, such as juicy watermelon slices, crisp apple wedges, and tangy pineapple chunks. Alongside the fruit, an assortment of savoury treats like Flaming Hot Cheetos and crispy tortilla chips with zesty salsa added to the inviting spread. For those with a sweet tooth, there were chocolate-covered pretzels, offering a delightful blend of sweet and salty flavours , and creamy peanut butter cups, satisfying cravings with their rich and indulgent taste.
In the second room, an equally vibrant ambiance greeted the visitors as they stepped through the doorway. Bold patterns and energetic colours adorned the walls, creating a dynamic backdrop for the scene within. Here, friends could gather around vintage gaming tables or sink into oversized bean bags, enjoying each other's company in the lively atmosphere. Near the windows, another spread of snacks awaited, including crunchy popcorn drizzled with caramel and sprinkled with sea salt, and bowls of mixed nuts offering a satisfying crunch. Freshly baked chocolate chip cookies made the whole room smell like cookies, added to the inviting array of treats, tempting the visitors with their gooey centres and crisp edges. Amidst the scene, laughter and smiles filled the air as the visitors took in the sight of the delicious snacks, feeling welcomed and at ease in the vibrant space.
