I woke up to everyone still asleep. I got up and got on a pair of jeans and a black tank top and threw on a red flannel. I then headed out to do some of the chores. As I was working through getting the feed ready spot ran up to me and I smiled at him.
Spot was my German shepherd that dad had gotten me about 4 years back. I fed everyone and then headed to let the animals out to graze. I then grabbed a wheel barrel and started to muck out of the stalls.
It was very early and the sun was just coming up. I walked out and layed in the pasture with the horses to watch the sun rise. Storm and ginger came over and lay next to me. I smiled at the two houses as we watched the sun rise.
I had trouble sleeping so I had decided to come out and do some chores. When I noticed that the sun had risen pretty well I headed back to finish cleaning.
I finished the horse stalls and headed to milk the goats to take a break from cleaning. As I was finishing the milking I saw Alice waking over to me.
"Why are you out here working so early?" Alice said as she walked closer. I sighed and looked at her. I desperately wanted to cry and let it all out to tell her that I missed them and I was worried. But I did not want anyone to know I needed to stay strong for the twins.
"Couldn't sleep, decided to get an early jump in the day's work." I said, smiling at her. I knew she knew it was a fake smile but she didn't say anything, just nodded and came over to help me finish the milking.
After the two of us were done we headed inside and I saw both of the twins on the couch watching a movie. I could tell both of them were trying to distract themselves from what was happening. I saw that Taffy was nowhere to be seen so I walked into my parents room to see her sitting on the easier side of the bed.
"I can't believe she is missing. I always thought I would be the one that went off on some adventure and went missing and she had to try and come find me" She said and I looked at her with concern.
"They will come back, we just have to wait, they won't leave us without them. I know my parents. They are doing everything that they can to get back to us. I believe in them and you need to as well" I said smiling at her even though there were tears slowly streaming down my face.
Taffy came toward me and pulled me into a tight hug. She started to slowly pet my hair and held me close to her.
"I know sweetie you are right they are going to come back for you I promise. They are probably coming back for you right now" Taffy said while holding me close.
