27 - GOODBYE

"Did you do it?"
Gian broke the silence of the room.

That made all of his group look up at him in curiosity, Nobita, Doraemon as well as Christina.

Gian looked up from Suneo, his rageful eyes directed at Nobita, "Did you kill him, Nobita? Did you kill Kiyoshi?"

Nobita flinched on being reminded of that little incident that happened a few minutes ago.

Remembering how he left it unfinished, he immediately spun his head in that direction but found the spot empty.

The room was deserted excluding the five... No, four of them there.

Did he flee?
That bastard!

Nobita swore inside but stayed quiet.

"ANSWER ME, NOBITA!" Gian yelled at him, grabbing his collar aggressively. "Did you kill that son of a bitch?" He eyes automatically fell on the empty spot where Kiyoshi was.

He let go of Nobita and shot up from his place. Looking around the whole room, he did not find Kiyoshi anywhere... Neither his body, which gave him the answer he needed.

"You did not kill him?" Gian asked in a shaky disbelieving voice.

"Gian, I tried to b--" Nobita replied, standing up and behind Gian.

"You tried to??" Gian turned around to face Nobita. "You tried to, Nobita? Come on. We all know you always achieve it if you actually try to do something. That's the whole reason why we always choose to follow you."

Nobita did not say anything back. Instead, not being able to keep eye contact with the way Gian was now, he had to look away.

"You couldn't do it, could you? You couldn't kill him," Gian said calmly.

"I'm sorry, Gian," Nobita clenched his fists in frustration.

Gian laughed out a little and continued, "You could kill Clone... You could kill Cash... But you couldn't kill Kiyoshi, huh?"

Those statements made both Nobita and Doraemon gasp... Both of them for completely different reasons.

"What- What are you saying, Gian?" Doraemon asked.

Nobita cut Doraemon off, speaking to Gian, "How'd you know?"

Doraemon turned to Nobita, gaping, "Nobita--??"

"I've always known," Gian replied, "You see, you're not that good at hiding things, not from me. I take good care of seeing what my close friends are going through, if they are okay or not. The way you acted back at the island was suspicious, especially when we learnt about Clone's death. It didn't faze you as much as it did to us. And as for Cash, it had to have been you. No one else bore as much hatred for that man as you did."

Doraemon tumbled a step back. "Nobita, is it true? Did you really kill them?"

Nobita hardly heard anything Doraemon was saying beside him. His focus was all on Gian.

"Although I figured it all out, I never once doubted your intentions. You always put your friends first, you always put us first. You might've killed them but you always were a great friend. So, I decided to follow you and suppress these secrets," Gian added.

Nobita still remained quiet.

"Then, tell me one thing, Nobita? If you could kill Cash for what he did to Shizuka, why can't you do the same to the person who killed Suneo? Was he not important enough to you? Or was he not good enough as a friend?"

"THAT'S NOT TRUE!" Nobita blurted out, "Never say that. Suneo was an amazing friend... Till the very end."

"That's exactly what I'm saying! This is Suneo, Nobita. SUNEO. We've been together for years. Why did you hesitate while avenging him? When he didn't think twice before throwing away his life for yours?"
