23 - FIGHT FOR ANDERU

The rain had finally ceased...

.....

Kiyoshi and General Spider turned to look at each other once. They nodded.

.....

"Everything is ready?" Shizukaru asked.

After receiving an affirmation, Christina said, "Then let's get into our positions."

"Remember guys," Nobita reminded one last time, "If anything happens, run the other way."

Everyone nodded in agreement and they all left for their own positions.

Nobita and Christina were the only two left behind. She was about to leave when Nobita grabbed her hand.

"What's up?" She asked him.

"Can you manage it?" Nobita said.

"What do you mean?"

"If you miss, your location is the first one that is going to be exposed. So, I'm just worried?"

"Nobita-"

"How good of a shot are you? I mean we could swap if you want. I might not have handled a bow and arrow before but I'm a near perfect shot when it comes to guns," he smirked.

"Oh really now? Well, this isn't a gun."

"What choice do we have?"

"We do. How about I show you how good of a shot I am with a bow and an arrow?" She asked Nobita, pretending to prop her weapon.

"Fine fine, not here," Nobita put down her arms forcefully.

Christina laughed, "Don't worry, dummy. In middle school archery class back in the US, I was top of my class."

"Oh, I didn't know that," Nobita said, mortifyingly embarrassed.

"It's okay. Now let go of me."

"Right," Nobita freed her. "Even so, be careful, okay?"

She nodded and hurried off.

.....

"Stay here, Kiyoshi. Don't show yourself to the enemy forces yet. If you don't receive any signal from my end within 5 minutes, you are free to intervene then."

"Understood," Kiyoshi responded. "Take care and don't you dare die."

"I won't. Not that easily. I promise."

Kiyoshi smiled at him.

"Forward soldiers!" General Spider commanded as huge earth golems emerged from the wet ground and began marching towards the city.

In front of them, General Spider controlling them, leading their way.

......

Inside the castle,
General Spider and his soldiers found nothing but dark emptiness inside. There was no army, no resistance, nothing from the castle.

They just simply walked in.

"Did they lose all hope of winning?" General Spider questioned himself.
".... They could be up to something! One last futile attempt at saving themselves."

After a while,
He heard voices. Human voices.

"Oi fuckers! Come and catch us if you can."

"Yeah yeah, catch us if you can."

"We dare you, catch us if you can."

"Where are these voices coming from?" wondered General Spider.

Focusing on the voices, he deciphered they were coming from the east wing and there was a convenient door towards that direction.
