Kal aur Aaj

Rajveer has recovered from the cursed accident that separated him and Naina from the last 3 years. He was waiting for this day to meet his love who is yearning for years. Chaubey has already informed how Naina and his cadets have proved Naveen and him innocent. The pain of betrayal of Lala and Abhimanyu is still with him but the wish to see her overpass it. Rajveer is scared that Naina would be angry for not letting her and others know about him alive. Still, believes that will forgive him as has seen love in her eyes in their last meeting.

Rajveer was packing the stuff when heard a knock on the door. He was surprised to see an old senior, Colonel Naik standing there. After the accident, a person admitted Rajveer to the hospital who finds him in bushes. After a year, got his consciousness and then contacted Chaubey who shifted him to a military hospital.

The Colonel gets in and exchanges the greetings.

Colonel Naik : "It's good to see you fit Major Rajveer".

Rajveer got a promotional letter a few days back along with the medals that were snatched away brutally years ago. He only thanked Naina for this as she has fought for him when everyone believes has gone rogue, hiding or may be dead.

Rajveer : "Thanks Sir".

Colonel Naik : "So, were you leaving to meet your cadets".

Rajveer (smilingly) : "Yes Sir. Bahut saal ho gaye hain unhe dekhe aur unko ko pata bhi nahi hain ki main zinda hu".

Colonel Naik (smirked) : "I can understand Major but they can wait for a few more months".

Rajveer surprisingly looks at him.

Colonel Naik : "Dekho Major, sab ko lagta hain ki tum mar chuke ho. There is a mission for which I need an officer like you who is brave, good in strategies and presumed dead. You will be handling a team and it will be over in a few months. Then can meet your cadets who have become fearless officers like you. The country needs you".

Rajveer wanted to refuse for this mission as was dying to meet the cadets especially Naina. But the soldier in him overcame Rajveer and agreed for it as the country is above everything else.

Colonel Naik : "I was expecting this from you. You can meet the team today. Let's go".

Rajveer (in loud voice) : "Yes Sir".

The mission was to enter a terrorist group and stop them from attacking cities. The team contains him, a captain and few soldiers who were gathering information on the attacks. They don't know much about Rajveer except that he was part of the intelligence team. He has become close to Captain Anvay Jadeja who reminded him of Naveen. He has the same nature of carefree, helping others but becomes serious when it's about saving the country.

It was planned for months but took more time than expected in gaining terrorist confidence and gathering information. After one year, the team was able to catch them when they were deciding the final plan. While terrorists were getting transported, one of them tried to run. Rajveer was chasing that man along with Anvay and a terrorist snatched a pistol from him. He didn't get the time to react and the man fired the bullet that hit Anvay. Rajveer pulls another from leg and shoots him at point blank. Both men died on the spot and the happiness of successfully completing the mission was over as soon as Anvay took his last breath.

Rajveer was devastated as again one of his friends died in front of him and was not able to do anything about it. The guilt of Naveen  still haunts him and then sees the lifeless body of Anvay. He remained in shock until one of the team members touched his shoulder. He gets a grip of himself, dragged terrorists back and the captain body with respect to the base.

When it was time to inform the family, he volunteered as doesn't want to repeat the mistake that was made with Naveen. With trembling hands pressed the bell of Jadeja house. Only he knows, how has controlled himself to not break or hide in work as did at his best friend's time. The door was opened by a girl in early thirties who was surprised to see a man in uniform standing with a pale face. She let him in but the mind was telling her something is not right. Rajveer was standing in the room and requested her to sit down. The girl in tension called her mother who rushed in.
