Naina : "The door was opened by Raghav in panic and saw the Colonel lying on the floor whose blood was coming out from head. He guessed what would have happened and instead of helping him stood in front of me. Main nahi bhul sakti us ehsaas ko jab unhone mujhse ek baar bhi nahi pucha ki maine aise kyu kiya. There was an understanding and may be an appreciation in his eyes for me. He put one hand on my shoulder and didn't know when I started crying in his arms.

Other officers also rushed in and lifted the Colonel from near a table. Woh sabko yahi bol rahe the ki, maine seduce karne ki koshish ki jaise aapko karti thi. (Rajveer's knuckles was turning white and pressed the psl more tight)

No one listened to me when I told the truth. Karta bhi kon...I was a lieutenant who was already labelled as characterless after a traitor's sister. I complained against him by Raghav's support and went through the humiliation again.

In the inquiry board, few sympathised with me while the rest were on Colonel's side because of what happened during your court martial and he also had some higher connections. Raghav hi mere liye lare sabse apne career ko khatre mae daal kae.

He received threats both of life and job but still stayed on my side. (soften the tone) I thought to withdraw the complaint as I couldn't see him in any danger. (smiled painfully) Par nahi karne diya and itna danta jitni toh kabhi baat bhi nahi thi ki pichle ek saal mae.

After the inquiry, we won and I breathed properly for the first time in that year. The Colonel was demoted to Lt. Colonel, still has the same position from last 4 years and recently posted in a very remote place. It didn't end with that as his friends are in the army. We were given difficult posts and then sent to a dangerous mission".

Naina sighed, moved eyes on Rajveer who was sitting like a statue. She brushed his hand and he came out of numbness. When their eyes meet, her blankness finds his sympathy and shamefulness. He didn't know what to say or how to react as nothing was coming into mind or on tongue. The anger which was running in veins only wanted to hunt that vile man and break his every bone but don't even do that as she didn't name him.

Rajveer hugged her tightly to share the pain and realised that is alone in it. He broke the hug to see her who was looking at him without any emotion as nothing has happened and hands in the lap.

Rajveer (patted cheek and felt her icy skin) : "Naina, kya hua. Kuch toh bolo. Mujhe mat darao aise".

Naina (murmured) : "Aapko kya lagta hain bas yahi hua hain".

His face lost colours and the heart sank as all the worse situations were running in his mind. He was not daring to ask what she meant as was scared of what if it breaks him more than her.

Naina (removes his hand and said) : "Mission se pehle humko training di thi unke culture aur bolne kae tarike par. We had to go as husband and wife. The mission is classified, so, I can't give more details. Hum ek saal ke baad jab lautna tha toh...Raghav bahar gaye the kuch confirmation kae liye. Imran jo humara landlord tha, ghar par aaya koi bahane se. He threatened to inform the police that we are spies as once I used hindi words rather than urdu. Par main bahut careful thi toh ye nahi ho sakta tha. I still believe that he was tipped off.

I tried to convince him that there was some misunderstanding but he asked for something in return to keep mouth shut. It was clear what Imran lusted when it touched me forcefully and could see the same intentions like that Colonel. Mujhe kuch samajh nahi aaya.

I snapped, bent his arm and turned him around to break neck. He may not have understood what had happened. I threw the body on the floor and sat on a chair nearby. Raghav came after hours and we cleared the mess. He again didn't ask why I did this and brought us back in another way".
