Multraversal Adventures 4: Darkness' Rise

Chapter 12: The Second Gem

Nathan, Xoros, Globob, and Relka traveled for hours towards the second Gem. Eventually, they found another crater, and just like the last one, it held a Gem.

Nathan: "Alright, Globob, you come with me."

Globob: "Huh? Why me?"

Nathan: "Well, I want all of us to have turns going in with each other."

Xoros: "Uh, how does that benefit us?"

Nathan: "Well, I mean... Eh, whatever, just come with me, Globob."

Nathan and Globob slid down the side of the crater, eventually reaching the Gem. The quickly grabbed it, and put it inside the artifact.

Nathan: "Alrighty, two down, four to go."

Nathan and Globob then traveled back up the side of the crater, eventually getting back to Xoros and Relka.

Nathan: "Alright, we got it."

Xoros: "Good. Now, let's head over to the next Gem."

The four then began traveling. Nathan then had an idea.

Nathan: "Y'know, I think, to fill this void of silence, we should trade stories."

Xoros: "Hmm, not a terrible idea."

Nathan: "Yeah. Xoros, you go first."

Xoros: "Huh? Why me?"

Nathan: "Well, with how many adventures you went on with my dad, you probably have the most stories out of any of us. Well, the most interesting, at least."

Xoros: "Hmm, alright. Let's start with... Ah, the tale of Lord Bafos. You see, there once was a man known as Bafos. He ruled a small village with an iron fist, and eventually, he came to... Well, what WOULD be Nortonia, since the kingdom wasn't established until after Norosis settled down, and we had fought almost every evil. Anyway, Bafos came to, let's just call it Nortonia, and he wanted to build a large city and castle, and rule over the entire world. Of course, Norosis would not do it, so we had a huge battle with the man, eventually kicking him off to another planet entirely. For a while, we assumed that he had died, but he actually survived, and eventually came back. We fought him again, and beat him again. We would go on to fight him a few more times, but once Norosis established the kingdom, he just... Vanished. He said he would be back, but he never did return."

Nathan: "Huh. Well, he might still be out there somewhere. Maybe he began fighting someone else?"

Xoros: "Maybe."

Suddenly, off of a cliff, someone had jumped and landed on Nathan.

Nathan: "AGH!"

Bargos: "Ah, it's you... THE HERO."

Ekam: "Bargos, get off. Remember what Garonix said."

Bargos: "Ugh, fine."

As the other three tried to attack, Ekam activated a device that froze them in place.

Ekam: "What, thought we were just gonna stand there and allow you to attack? Heh, anyway, don't worry. One; we only need those gems, or gem, that you have, and two; once we get far enough away, or well, once the device gets far enough away, you'll unfreeze."

Ekam and Bargos then stole the artifact, and disappeared.
