Multraversal Adventures 4: Darkness' Rise

Chapter 3: Sense

Nathan followed Relka to her father, as they approached a large building.

Relka: "Fyi, I haven't actually talked with him yet, I just found him here."

Nathan?: "Hmm, why not?"

Relka: "Well, he's... He's sitting in front of my mother's casket."

Nathan?: "Oh. So... This place is where you keep your dead?"

Relka: "Well... Yes. I don't wanna focus on that right now, so let's just... Try to talk to him."

Nathan and Relka then walked up to the Chief, as he sat in front of his wife's casket.

Relka: "Umm... Father?"

The Chief: "R-Relka?"

Relka: "Yes, it's me, father."

The Chief: "I am so glad you made it back to us!"

Relka: "Well, I missed you all, as well."

Nathan?: "Ahem."

The Chief: "Oh, my apologies..."

Relka: "Hmm? What is it, father?"

The Chief: "I sense... Hmm, I do not sense the same light from you, as I did before."

Nathan?: "Hmm, what do you mean?"

The Chief: "Hmm, Relka, would you leave us alone for a bit? I need to perform a ritual that will expell whatever darkness lies within him."

Relka: "Wait, he's been infected with some sort of darkness?!"

The Chief: "Hmm, it would appear so. Now go... This ritual could get a little... Dangerous."

Relka: "Well, what shall I do while you are here?"

The Chief: "Hmm, go check on the villagers, make sure they're all okay, and help them in any way you can."

Relka: "Hmm, alright, father."

Relka then left, as her father began the ritual."

The Chief: "Alright, this may cause some pain, so you should prepare."

Nathan?: "Hmm, alright."

The Chief: "Alright, let's see..."

The Chief then began extracting some darkness, which, strangely, formed into the shape of a tentacle, which then grabbed the Chief by the neck, choking him.

The Chief: "AGH, WHAT?"

Nathan?: "Hmm, it would appear that you were wrong."

The Chief: "You... You're not Nathan!"

Nathan?: "Oh, yes, you're right about that."

The Chief: "Then what are you?!"

Nathan?: "Oh, I don't think I'll be telling you that. Well, I suppose it won't really matter, since you'll die here anyway, but... Hmm, no. No, I do not think I will tell you my name."

The Chief: "You better not... Hurt my... Daughter..."

The Chief then passed away, as Nathan let go of his neck, and the dark tentacle disappeared.

Nathan?: "Oh, do not worry. I will not hurt any of them, so long as they do what I tell them."
