Chapter 4: Grief

Nathan then heard footsteps running towards the temple, and as he turned around, he saw that it was Relka and just before she entered, he lied down on the floor.

Relka: "Alright, are you both- oh my... FATHER!!!"

Nathan?: "Ugh, what ha- oh no."

Relka: "NATHAN, WHAT HAPPENED?!"

Nathan?: "I... I do not know. He began the ritual, and as he was going through, some kind of spike made of darkness emerged, and stabbed him."

Relka: "NO, NO, FATHER! FATHER, PLEASE!"

Nathan: "I'm... I'm afraid there isn't much we can do, Relka."

Relka: "NO... No... no."

Nathan then grabbed Relka's hand, and they left the temple, and gathered the people.

Relka: "Everyone... The Chief is... He has passed."

Everyone gasped all at once.

Relka: "I... I don't even know what more to say. I really don't. I didn't have any time to prepare for such a loss."

Nathan?: "Relka... Let me speak."

Relka: "Okay."

Relka then moved, as Nathan stood front and center.

Nathan?: "Everyone... I arrived here a few days ago, so I cannot say for certain, but I fell, deep in my heart, that your Chief was was a good and just man. I know that you all must have been led by him for a long while, so a loss like this cannot be easy, but I know that you can all push through this, and continue forging a future for yourselves. That is all I wish to say, so I wish you all a better day, and I hope you can go on."

Villager: "Wait, then that means... Relka, you're the new chief!"

The villagers then began walking up to the stage, but as they were about to swarm Relka, Nathan blocked them.

Nathan?: "Now, now, be patient. Have you all REALLY overlooked her father's death? She is in no shape to simply be made Chief, and start leading you all."

Relka: "Thank you, Nathan."

Nathan?: "Now, give her some time. She still needs to mourn her father, and we have things we must do afterwards."

Nathan and Relka then left, as they journeyed into the forest.
