The One with the Sorting

The Hogwarts was quite welcoming, even to those coming there scared into oblivion.
The brunette and friend listened hard as the Sorting hat sang about the founding witches and wizards.

While the brunette was enchanted by the ceiling, she couldn't help but notice a teacher stuttering while talking to another teacher. She put a spell on him, that she had heard her father use on his animals sometimes when they became too noisy.

By the time she finished her prank, it was time for sorting. She was just after Hermione. This was the time she noticed most boys were staring at her, as though star-struck.

"Witty, Intelligent befitting a Ravenclaw, Caring, Kind as a Hufflepuff, Proud, Resourceful like a Slytherin BUT Bravery and Chivalry like a true GRYFFINDOR....."

Strangely enough, all the house tables clapped for her, even some begrudging Slytherins. When she came to sit with her bestie, she sheepishly called out to her," Sweetheart, don't get mad but I pranked one of the teachers, poor guy can't speak- I put Silencio on him lol."

Two guys- actually twins came clapping appreciatively on her shoulder while Hermione scolded her like a mom.

"Woah, you really changed my mind about you lot, ickle ronnykins here supposed you were too uptight. Well, Miss Scamander, if you are ever in the mood for a prank you are welcome to join us, Myself Fred and this is George Weasley."
Meanwhile, Percy Weasley was impressed by the charm she used, "That's a 5th-year charm you used, where did you learn it?"
"Well, my brother is an N.E.W.T. student so I hear him AND my dad uses these charms all the time."The brunette replied laughing."My friend here is also a big book of knowledge and I kinda am too scared of her to say- she is a very gifted witch with a fiery temper." Percy then immediately hit it off with Ms Granger.

The girls had not stayed to listen to anyone else's sorting because they were too tired. As the brunette slipped into her silk pyjamas, she asked her sweetheart, "You up?"
The girl replies with soft snores.

The next she woke up determined to look good for her first day.

In her excitement, she rushed into the common room and started singing, I Want It That Way by Backstreet Boys (A muggle boy band)  at the top of her lungs. Strangely enough, the weasley twins joined her in this soulful singing until Hermione came and dragged her down for breakfast.

"I should have never introduced you to Muggle music, you always sing this for something important and embarrass us. Singing it is not so bad, but the expressions and roleplay are just something else."
They both laughed at this and took in the massive feast awaiting them.

NOW if there's one you need to know about these two, it's that they are foodies. They started eating like they were intermittent fasting for a week. After eating, The brunette looked over at the Ravenclaw table and waved at her brother.
THIS INTERACTION resulted in an uproar. The new pretty girl waving at a particular house was very sensational AND the most popular guy at Hogwarts coming over at the Gryffindor table and back-hugging her is just WOAH~

The brunette was shocked yet pleased- most of the girls were glaring at her and the boys were looking heartbroken. However, this little interaction was broken apart when Professor Minerva McGonagall, Head of Gryffindor came to hand out their timetables.

They were briefed about all subjects by the professors and Hermione and the brunette quickly made a great impression on them.
Even in Transfiguration, they were given a very rare smile by Professor McGonagall.

Well, so far things were going pretty well at Hogwarts for the brunette. She had made many friends in different houses; Padma Patil in Ravenclaw, Cedric Diggory, Ernie Macmillan and Justin Finch Fletchley in Hufflepuff, Adrian Pucey and Blaise Zabini in Slytherin. Her dormitory friends were of course above mentioning their names here. Parvati and Lavender were also very much into Muggle Music, i.e. Elvis Presley, George Michael etc. The brunette and her friends used to have karaoke every night.

Today was the day, the brunette's cat was going to come stay with her at Hogwarts. She was so excited for post. While boarding up on burgers(she pleadingly asked the house elves to make it) One of her home owls, Oliver came swooshing with a big parcel and letter.

After carefully dropping it on the table, he sat on the brunette's shoulder. The brunette quickly patted him on the back and gave him something good to eat. She then tore open the letter.

Dear Y/n,

How are you? I think all the teachers must impressed by you and my smart daughter, Hermione. I am just kidding. Your mom will be running busy for some time, so all the letters and candies(I know you LOVE muggle candies, me too) will be sent by me. Take good care of Mr. Meowington, okay?

Dad♡♡

The brunette chuckled at the letter and showed it to her sweetheart, who also chuckled. She opened the parcel to find Mr. Meowington trying to eat the candies. The brunette rushed to keep her cat in her dormitory, before her Potions lesson.

It was the lesson she had waited nervously since her arrival.
