The brunette left the basket and Meowington to the care of the twins. They rushed to keep up with Harry who was now sprinting towards Hagrid's hut and explaining why he ran.
"Don't you think it's a bit odd, that what Hagrid wants more than anything else is a dragon and  a stranger turns up who just happens to have an egg in his pocket? How many people wander around with dragon eggs if it's against wizard law? Lucky they found Hagrid, don't you think? Why didn't I see it before?"

The brunette agreed it was a clue in plain sight, as the suspect was one of the teachers who had put protective charms on it. As the Quartet walked in, Harry began asking questions. The brunette however was still rounding out suspects in her mind, Professor Sprout was not ambitious, Professor Hooch also seemed like a nice person, Professor McGonagall could never, the other hurdles were likely to be from Quirell & Snape.

Then she started listening to the conversation for clues, Hagrid was telling them about a person who had a dragon egg at hands, only a person related to magizoology could have them. (No it can't be--noo-- he didn't seem like that. She thought)

Just then Hagrid gave away the way to calm Fluffy down, the Quartet rushed towards the Headmaster's office, the brunette's mind still conflicting. She just held on to Hermione, to go in the right direction. After the conversation with McGonagall saying Dumbledore's not there.
Harry began,
"It's tonight, Snape's going through the trapdoor tonight. He's found out everything he needs, and now he's got Dumbledore out of the way. He sent that note, I bet the Ministry of Magic will get a real shock when Dumbledore turns up."

The brunette didn't have the evidence to correct him about Snape, so she stayed silent. The look on Harry's face told her, they were, infact going to the third floor corridor tonight.

"Harry, I'll meet you at the common room in five minutes. Please tell Hermione to get my emergency pouch with her."
"What do you--
......

The brunette dashed towards the Hufflepuff tower and went inside to meet Cedric.
"G-Goldie, can I borrow your violin? Please."
"Sure but what's the hurry miss?"
"Goldie, I'll tell you tomorrow please, the violin?"
"Sure, here you go."
"Thank you so so much."

She then ran towards the Gryffindor common room and saw Harry and Ron sitting dejected.
"What happened to you two?"
Harry replied
"McGonagall, she threatened us with points again."
Just then, Hermione came and told them the bad news of Snape going somewhere.
The brunette knew her suspicions were right, and what the 'Hero Potter' is going to do. She had a small pouch with an Undetectable Extension Charm, she packed it with first aid, water, invisibility cloak and her violin, just in case.

She came down only to hear Harry shouting,
"You're right, Harry."
"But will the cloak cover all three of us?"
"Ickle Ronnie, Don't forget I have one too and I'm also coming."
"All-all four of us?"
"Oh, come of it, you don't think we'd let you go alone?"
"Of course not, How do you think you'd get to the stone without us ? I'd better go and look through my books, there might be something useful..."
"But if we get caught, you three will be expelled, too."
"Not if we can help it, Flitwick told me in secret that Darling got 108% and I got 112% on his exam. They're not expelling us after that."
"Hell, I got a 113% on the Transfiguration exam. McGonagall told me when I was getting stuff for my picnic."

......🔥⚡🌊
After dinner the four of them sat nervously apart in the common room. Nobody bothered them; none of the Gryffindors wanted to talk to them anymore anyway. Hermione and the brunette were sitting poring over books for information. The brunette had Meowington in her lap sitting, purring regally. She was eating some candy while reading a book of spells and offered some to the twins. They took it but didn't grin at her like usual.

Slowly the room emptied as people drifted off to bed.
"Better get the cloak," Ron muttered.
The brunette simply tied her hair in a ponytail and tied the pouch to her trouser's belt buckle.
Harry came down with the cloak.
"We'd better the cloak on here, and make sure they cover all of us-- if Filch spots one of our feet wanderings along on its own--"
"What are you doing?" Neville asked clutching Trevor the toad.
"Nothing, Neville,  Nothing."
"You're going out again."
"No, no, no, No we're not. Why don't you go to bed, Neville?"
"You can't go out, you'll be caught again. Gryffindor will be in even more trouble."
"You don't understand, this is important."
"I won't let you do it, I'll-- I'll fight you!"
"Neville, get away from that hole and don't be an idiot--
"Don't you call me an idiot! I don't think you should be breaking any more rules! And you were the one who told me to stand up to people!"
Meanwhile the brunette was thinking of which spell to use on Neville, she knew he meant well but they NEEDED to do this. Harry had just convinced Hermione to put a spell on him, when the brunette yelled
"PETRIFICUS TOTALUS!"
She knelt down to floor with guilt in her heart and-
"Neville, I'm really really sorry about this, but this very very important for everybody's safety."
"What did you do to him?" Harry asked
Hermione replied instead
"It's the full body-bind, Oh Neville we're soo sorry."
"We had to Neville, no time to explain," Harry said
"You'll understand later, Neville" Ron added
.......
Leaving Neville lying motionless on the floor didn't feel like a very good omen. In their nervous state, every statue's shadow looked like Filch, every distant breath of wind sounded like Peeves swooping down on them. At the first set of stairs, they spotted Mrs. Norris skulking near the top.

"Oh let's kick her, just this once." Ron's whisper reached towards them. As they climbed carefully around her, Mrs. Norris turned her lamplike eyes on them, but didn't do anything.

They were safe until they reached the staircase upto the third floor. Peeves was bobbing halfway up, loosening the carpet so that people would trip.

"Who's there? Know you're there, even if I can't see you. Are a you ghoulie or ghostie or a wee student beastie?"
He rose up in the air and floated there, squinting at them.
"Should call Filch, I should, if something's a-creeping around unseen."
Harry suddenly starting speaking in a hoarse whisper.
"Peeves, the Bloody Baron has his own reasons for being invisible."

Peeves almost fell or whatever he did, it was hard for the brunette to keep her laughter in.
"So sorry, your bloodiness, Mr. Baron, Sir, My mistake, my mistake-- I didn't see you-- of I didn't, you're invisible-- forgive old Peevsie his little joke, sir."
"I have business here, Peeves," croaked Harry,
"Stay away from this place tonight."
"I will, sir, I most certainly will, Hope your business goes well, Baron, I'll not bother you."

As soon as he floated away,
"Brilliant, Harry."
"Raven, that was amazing!"

A few seconds later, they were there, outside the third floor corridor-- and the door was already ajar.

Will the brunette's suspicions be correct or Harry will be proven right?
