"Hey sage! We have a live one!" Those words make my head snap up from the book that was held in my hands. "We finally have it!" she says in excitement. "She's more excited than me" I say while staring at her with awe. "Sage! Come on and help me observe this thing!" Placing my book onto a nearby desk, I jump to my feet and run towards her.
"The top scientists went searching for it and didn't find anything. How were you able to find it?"
"Maybe because I have better eyesight than them" she sticks her tongue out at me. I laugh as a response.
"That may be true but you started working 4 weeks ago."
"So? That doesn't prove anything."
"I guess your right" I shake my head and send a smirk at her. "Alright," I clap my hands together. "Let's get started."

"Yo Alanis check this out" Ethan turns on the television and all attention goes on the news.
"In other news, the common cold has infected people world wide in two days. Scientists are receiving samples from these countries and studying the illness as we speak. We are waiting to hear from the results."
"How many?" I say
"How many what?" He looks at me with a worried look.
"How many have been infected?"
"Over 47 million people have been infected." Steve says. The sound of glass shattering is made and all 9 teens run to the living room.
"What's wrong?" Rene asks, holding Jessica's hand.
"We need to get supplies before the stores have been cleaned up" I run into the kitchen to grab my car keys and walk out into the living room.
"Alanis please calm down and tell us what is going on." Ethan wraps his arm around me to calm me down. I let out a sigh and explain myself.
"Alright. I'll explain myself, we need the supplies because this is the start of an epidemic disaster."
"We can't be certain about that yet though." Kyle retorts. "Not enough information has shown that it is a disease."
"Kyle's right on this one." Jeremy says. "We can't react until we know if it's an actual danger."
"Then I guess I'm going myself." I get out of ethans grip and walk to the door.
"Wait!" I stop in my tracks and turn around. Ethan, Rene, Steve, and Jeremy (parking meter) have their arms raised.
"We'll go with you." Jeremy says. I sigh of relief knowing that I'm not going alone. "At least I won't have to worry about getting mugged."
"Just in case this is an actual emergency. We want to collect as much food as possible." Steve adds. I can see that he has been shaking a bit once he told me the number of infected.
"Ok," I say. "Let's take 3 of the cars. We need to get as much food and supplies as we need." The whole group looks at each other.
"And we need a lot of supplies if we want to survive." Jeremy (parking meter) states. I open the door and let the fresh air come in.
"Well, let's get started."
