At her first day at her new school she had a pencil case in her bag.
That was all that everyone else had.
But she also had her knife.
Hidden in a pocket within a pocket,
And the blade of the knife was wrapped in fabric.
So it wouldn't poke a hole in her bag.
Just like it had so often in her skin.
