But there was an old violin in her house.
And her mother sewed.
Metal strings can be stretched taut.
And needles and pins can be sharpened.
And if the cuts aren't deep.
If the marks aren't that long lasting.
If the blood doesn't flow very far.
They can mask the insurmountable desire for something else.
And they kept her going.
