It was currently Christmas Eve in the Buckley-Diaz household. Eddie had just tucked Christopher into bed before he walked into his room, catching his husband in the joint bathroom brushing his teeth.

Eddie leaned against the doorway, a soft smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he watched Buck in the bathroom mirror. The soft glow of the nightlight illuminated the room, casting a warm, comforting ambiance.

Buck looked over at his husband, momentarily stopping his brushing.

"What?" He asked, puzzled by the look Eddie was giving him.

Eddie's smile widened as he shook his head fondly. "Nothing," he replied, his voice warm with affection. "Just admiring the view."

Buck chuckled, the sound vibrating through the room as he resumed brushing his teeth. "You're such a sap," he teased, though his eyes sparkled with love.

Eddie shrugged, stepping closer to Buck and wrapping his arms around him from behind. "Guilty as charged," he admitted, resting his chin on Buck's shoulder.

"Te amo, mi amor."

Buck smiled as he leaned into Eddie's embrace, relishing the familiar warmth of his husband's body against his own.

"I love you too, Eddie." he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.

They stood there for a moment, relishing in the moment before Buck eventually finished brushing his teeth.

"Ready for tomorrow?" Buck asked as he made his way to his side of the bed, tucking himself under the covers.

"Absolutely," Eddie smiled as he wrapped his arms around his husband, placing a kiss on his forehead before closing his eyes and drifting off into a peaceful sleep.

Buck stirred in his sleep as the soft light of dawn filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the bedroom. He felt a gentle nudge at his side and a whisper of his name.

"Buck... Buck, wake up!" Christopher's voice was filled with excitement, pulling Buck from the depths of sleep.

Blinking away the remnants of sleep, Buck turned to see Christopher standing at the edge of the bed, his eyes wide with anticipation. "What is it, buddy?" Buck asked, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

"Santa came! He left presents under the tree!" Christopher exclaimed.

Buck glanced at the clock and smiled. 7:30, not bad.  "Alright, little man. Let's go see what he brought."

Rolling over, Buck nudged Eddie gently, coaxing him awake. With sleepy smiles, they both climbed out of bed and followed Christopher to the living room, where the Christmas tree sparkled with lights and ornaments.

As they entered the living room, Christopher's eyes lit up with excitement as he gestured towards the tree. "Look at all the presents, Dad! Santa really did come!" he exclaimed, bouncing with anticipation.

"Sure looks like it bud," Eddie rubbed his eyes tiredly, a faint grumble escaping his lips. "I swear, I need coffee before I can even think about presents," he muttered, shuffling towards the kitchen.

Buck followed him with a grin. "I got you covered, babe," he said, reaching for the coffee pot.

Eddie shot him a grateful smile as he watched Buck prepare the coffee with practiced ease. "You're too good to me." he said, his tone softening with appreciation.

Buck flashed him a smile as he handed Eddie a steaming mug.

The two men went and settled on the couch beside Christopher, who was on the floor surrounded by wrapping paper and ribbons. They took turns opening gifts, laughter filling the air with warmth and joy. Buck watched Eddie's face light up with every present Christopher opened, feeling grateful for the happiness they shared as a family.

Finally, they reached the last present, a small envelope tucked beneath the tree. Christopher handed it to Buck with a mischievous grin, his eyes shining with anticipation.

Buck glanced at Eddie, puzzled, before carefully opening the envelope. Inside, he found a card adorned with festive decorations and handwritten words. Clearing his throat, Buck began to read aloud.

"To my second dad," Buck read, his voice catching with emotion. "Thank you for loving me, and for making our family whole-"

Buck's hands trembled slightly as he held the card, his eyes misting over with tears. He cleared his throat before continuing, his voice thick with emotion.

Eddie reached out, placing a supportive hand on Buck's shoulder as he read. "Take your time, Buck," he murmured, his own eyes glistening with unshed tears.

Buck nodded, taking a deep breath to steady himself before continuing. "Thank you for always being there for me, for loving me unconditionally, for loving dad unconditionally, for guiding me through life's ups and downs, and for being the best second dad I could ever ask for."

Eddie squeezed Buck's shoulder reassuringly, silently urging him to keep going.

Buck's voice wavered slightly as he reached the final sentence. "Will you officially be my other dad and adopt me?"

Tears were falling from Buck's eyes as he looked up to see Christopher and Eddie watching him expectantly, their hearts open and vulnerable.  Without hesitation, Buck leaned down and enveloped Chris in a tight hug, overcome with love and gratitude.

"Yes, Christopher," Buck whispered, his voice trembling with emotion. "I would be honoured to officially be your other dad."

They hugged for what felt like minutes before Buck sat back down beside Eddie, wiping his tears with his thumb. He met Eddie's eyes, his heart absolutely overflowing with love.

"Thank you," he whispered, his voice choked with emotion.

"He's yours too baby," Eddie cupped Buck's cheek, "He always has been, even before we were together."

Their eyes locked in a moment of shared understanding and love before Eddie pulled him in for a kiss. They've kissed a hundred times before, but this one felt different. It was as if their love had reached a new depth, a deeper level of connection that transcended words. It was a kiss filled with promise, with the silent vows they made to each other echoing in the gentle press of lips.

When they finally parted, their foreheads touched, and they breathed each other in, savouring the moment of intimacy that enveloped them. Christopher was quick to jump between the two and embrace them both into a hug.

Buck's heart swelled with a sense of completeness, knowing that he was exactly where he was meant to be. In Eddie's arms, with his son, surrounded by love and acceptance.
