CHAPTER 6 - REALLY LIKE YOU

*FIRST PERSON* MENTIONS DRUG

Today is the big day. We will be performing in front of the whole school. For the past week, I've been gaining popularity. First, Jennie became super popular at school. After getting revealed as her sister, I've gotten over 100 followers on instagram and loads of guys asking me what she likes, to pursue her of course. Secondly, I was partnering with Shinyu for a dance project. Lots of rumours had been going around about me and him. They suspected I paid the teacher beforehand to get sorted into a group with him. I don't know what type of drugs they're on at this point. I didn't even know who the flip Shin Junghwan was until I got into his group. I roll my eyes every time I heard that rumour. I woke up early to prepare my makeup. I usually go to school barefaced but I did wear makeup when I walked with Shinyu for the first time hahaha. Today I decided to go with a change since I will be performing in front of the ENTIRE school. I put on some light foundation, eyeshadow, little eyeliner and some blush and looked at myself in the mirror. It still needs a little something..... I went to my drawer which had stickers inside that I usually use for journalling. I chose two hearts and put it on each side of my cheeks. That's better. I took one last look before heading out. There Shinyu was, standing by the lights waiting for me. We've been walking to school together almost everyday. We've gotten super close at this point. He's doesn't feel awkward around me anymore. He's willing to open up and strike a conversation anytime. Although he might be an I, but he acts super extrovert in our spare time. 'You look extra pretty today, I mean you were always pretty.' He smiled. I turned around and blushed. 'Stop teasing me, I only put makeup on just for the performance.' I said back. 'Don't worry about the rumours, you're really talented.' He quickly reassured me, it was like he could almost read my mind. 'Your stickers,' he pointed at his cheeks. 'They're cute.' He finished. I smiled back at him and continued to walk to school.

DRESSING ROOM...
We were in the dressing room, practising for the last time and getting our makeup re-applied. 'How are you feeling?' I asked Shinyu. 'Highkey nervous. I'm an I, I don't do really well in front of a number of audience.' He scratched his head, which was a sign of nervousness. I comforted him. 'You'll do just fine. Imagine the audiences are.... Cabbages.' He laughed. 'You're laughing, does that mean you're not nervous anymore.' I smiled, glad that I'm helping in a way. We got ready and stood backstage just behind the curtains where we could see the everyone. I could see Haewon looking my way, so I waved. She waved back of course. But to my surprise, Taerae was sitting next to her. Coincidentally, Shinyu was also waving at Taerae. I stood closer to Shinyu. 'Is it just me or do they both have a crush on each other but they both don't know that....' I whispered. 'I can definitely see that happening.' He replied back. Both of us laughed. Soon, our teacher went up and announced the next group. 'Next up, we have Kim Yerim and Shin Junghwan. They've adapted dance from 1MILLION, which is a very famous studio in South Korea. Please come up.' She gestured us to take place on stage. I quickly spot the marking for the centre, it was a black X made from duct tape. We got into position and nodded to the teacher who was in charge of the music.

We stayed still for our ending pose. Haewon got up and clapped loudly, followed by Taerae. Then others got up. We bowed and made our exit down the stage. 'Good job, we didn't make a single mistake.' I gave him a hi-five. We grabbed our stuff and made our way into the audience, taking a seat next to Haewon. I nudged her. 'Hey, what's up with you and Taerae? You guys seem extra close today. Because I needed to spend time with Shinyu to choreograph the dance. Both Haewon and Taerae tagged along, which gave them opportunities to get closer to each other. 'Oh, I had no one else to sit with, and I saw him so I made him to sit with me.' She made it sound like not big of a deal but I know she's screaming on the inside. I decided to focus back on the rest of the performances.

AFTER SCHOOL...
I waved bye to Shinyu and entered my house. I went up into my room. As I was putting down my bag and cleaning my bag, I got spammed with notifications. One was from Haewon. I opened my phone.

I was confused but I did so anyways. There it was, the first post that popped up, suggesting it was the most recent post.

: Hello, I wanted to confess to Kim Yerim in Class 10 - 4. When she was performing today, everything about her was perfect. From her expressions to movements. Yerim, if you ever see this, please meet me by the music room after school tomorrow. I really like you. I will wait for you for a month straight. Please come, I have something for you.

I gasped. Who on earth in our school would be that obsessed with me? I'm not even that pretty compared to Jennie. Plus I've only been at the school for a week almost two. Lots of people in the comments tagged me, which was where all the spamming notifications came from. I laid down on my bed, should I go? I really want to meet them but at the same time it might be a strange grown man who's weird. I sighed. I tried to let this get out of my mind and focussed on my homework.

THE NEXT DAY...
'Who do you think it is?' Haewon asked me. 'No idea, probably a random dude who goes crazy for every girl they see. Why would they like me when I've only been at this school for two weeks?' I really question the mental state of the guys at our school. Haewon dropped me off at my dance class and headed to hers which was two classrooms away from mine. 'Bye, have fun.' She waved to me. I waved back and entered the room. Shinyu was the first person I saw. I sat down next to him. He took off his earphones and smiled at me. 'What are you listening to?' He showed me the song cover. It was 'Really like you' by Gyubin. 'Oh I haven't listened to that yet. Maybe I should.' He nodded. Shinyu was about to say something but Mrs. Baek came into the room. The whole room fell silent and Shinyu had no option but to do so as well. Mrs. Baek started announcing our new assignment.

AFTERSCHOOL...
Everyone packed up and bowed to the teacher before heading out the classroom door. Haewon left school early because she had a doctors appointment, or else she would've came with me to the music room. When I walked, lots of girls turned their head towards me and whispered to their friends. I suspect it's about the confession on the school confession account. I turned left and headed for the music room. That was when the whispers got even louder.

I don't know who or what to expect there.

Spoiler : Second male lead is entering very soon..... Any guesses on who it might be? I have three big exams coming up on the 20th, 22nd and 24th so there will be lack of updates! But stay tuned for chapter 7!!
