"She wants to leave today?" Graham asked me. "Are you ready? Has it been long enough?"
"One week is more than I ever expected to get, so I'm content. Plus, if we bring her back that'll be a lot of information, granted we can get it out of her." I put my garbs back on and ate the last of my bread. It wasn't long after this that the door to the place opened and Viper stepped inside. She met eyes with Graham and scowled. "What're you looking at scum?"
Graham furrowed his brow but kept his mouth shut.
"Commander, are you ready?"
I grabbed my bags and nodded. "I have an idea to get you in the clear. I'll ask them if I can bring you back to the south with me for extra road support, since transporting this guy on my own could mean trouble for me anyways, if I get ganged up on or ambushed."
Her eyes lit up to that idea. "That's genius. I'll let you go and talk to them"-
"Well you need to come with, they'll want to ask if you're alright with that won't they?" I questioned.
She laughed. "I don't get a say in what I do for the most part, but sure I'll come with you."

We left the building and trudged towards the large tent, hearing through the walls some energized talk about sneak attacks and White Knights.
"Yeah, when he wasn't looking I stabbed him in between the shoulder blades. Stupid Knight never saw it coming!" They bellowed in laughter, making my blood boil but I contained myself.
"Commander Heath, what can I do for you?" The commander asked.
"I am taking my leave tonight, I'm thanking you for allowing me to stay and have one last favour to ask of you."
"And what's that?" He smiled, leaning back casually in his chair.
"I'm taking my prisoner across enemy territory on my own and ask that you spare Viper here for the journey. She is fit enough to not get killed, she will return with my men from the south once we go on another expedition."
He leaned back in thought, pondering if he's alright with it. "I suppose that should be alright, we're not sending her out anytime soon. You wouldn't mind would you Viper?"
She shook her head. "No sir."
He sighed and reluctantly agreed. "Alright fine then, good luck on your travels commander."
I nodded back and saluted. "Thank you, good luck."
We turned and stepped out of the tent, Vipers attitude looking optimistic. Her energy also seemed through the roof.
"I can't believe it, this is all going so well."
I actually agreed with that statement, things are so loose around here I got away with so much. I never even had to prove I was a commander. No wonder they fail to take the city.
"Tonight I will strike and leave behind this glove that belongs to Weasel. He left it behind in the tent the other day. Nobody will have any idea it was me since I'm technically gone. Wait for me by the cells at nightfall, when I return to you we will leave and make our way to the city."
I nodded in agreement, hoping she wouldn't get caught in the act. I suppose if she does I can assert my authority as another "commander" and take her into custody.
"Sounds good. I'll be waiting and don't be stupid. I shouldn't have to intervene." I said sternly.
She nodded back and took off, preparing herself for the betrayal.

"I'm getting nervous, I usually don't get like this." I began, pacing around the room. Graham was sitting next to me, I had tied his wrists together again.
"It'll go to plan, don't worry."

We stepped outside into the night sky and saw that there were significantly less people walking around. The big tall torches lighting up the dirt roads offered a sense of comfort to us in these stressful times, but I had to remain alert. I grabbed our horses, tied his ankle to his and got atop mine. I pulled him along behind me towards the exit, waiting just a stones throw or two before it. I had no idea where she was committing this act, probably not in the main tent. I'm not even sure where the commander would be by himself. Sleeping?
"Adamus?" Graham whispered.
"Is that her there?"
I squinted through the darkness and saw a shady figure running up to me. She quickly grabbed my horse and jumped on the back, her face covered with a black wrap.
"Sorry, it's done. Let's get out of here."
"It's finished?" I repeated.
She nodded and took the covering off to not look suspicious. "Yes, we need to leave."
I nodded and slowly trotted up towards the gate. The guards opened it without question, and let us through.
"Hyah!" I shouted, taking off into the night sky. I could feel Viper gripping the sides of my armour as we rode, endless thoughts racking my brain. I was doubting myself that I made the right decision leaving so quickly, but I was bringing with me a valuable woman who would have much to say in regards to Mordreds empire. She even met him herself, according to her.
