I was a nervous mess as we got out of the jeep. It would be my first time officially meeting the entirety of the Cullen clan. Sure I already met Edward and, obviously, Emmett; and I had seen Carlisle around town a few times, but that was it. I had no idea what to expect from the rest of these vampires. My only consolation was that Bella would also be here, so at least I wasn't the only human.
Emmett rounded the jeep to my side and instantly took my hand. "Don't be nervous," he whispered in my ear as we started walking toward where the rest of the cars were, and from this distance I could also see a handful of people.
I looked up at my boyfriend with narrowed eyes, "when, in the history of ever, has telling someone not to be nervous, actually made them stop being nervous?" I asked sarcastically.
Emmett barked out a laugh, his head tilting back to the sky as his shoulders shook with the force in which he laughed. I felt myself smiling in response, his laughter was a sound I wanted to hear more of. "You'll fit right in, I assure you," he said after calming down, but I could still see the amusement dancing in his honey eyes.
"Right," I whispered more to myself as we approached the group that was Emmett's family. Edward and Bella weren't here yet, which just made me more nervous.
Emmett and I came to a stop in front of the five vampires, only one of which I recognized. Carlisle was the dad of their family and he looked the same as the last time I'd seen him. He was tall with light blond hair and kind gold eyes. Beside him was a woman, Esme, I assumed based on how close they were. She had long chocolate brown hair that was pulled back away from her gorgeous face.
Next to them was a short girl with a pixie cut, she was hanging on to a taller boy with shaggy, golden blond curls, who looked slightly pained as he looked at me. Next to him was another girl, she was tall and thin with long blonde hair that was in perfect ringlet, she was scowling at me since the moment I walked up.
The group of vampires all had two things in common: their unique golden eye color and their god-like beauty. They were breathtakingly beautiful, it felt like a blessing just to be looking at them, let alone dating one of them.
"Guys, this is Olivia," Emmett introduced me to the group of very intimidating vampires. "My mate," he spoke the second part with such pride that I felt myself blush in response. He was proud to call me that, I would melt on the spot if we weren't in front of his family.
Carlisle was the first one to step forward and offer me his hand, he wore a kind smile that made me feel at ease instantly, "I'm Carlisle, it's nice to meet you, Olivia."
I took his hand and returned the smile, "it's nice to meet you too."
His wife stepped forward as we released our handshake, "I'm Esme, welcome to the family, Olivia." She was also wearing a warm, welcoming smile.
