The rest of the term passed in a blur. Exams were over, and everyone went their separate ways for their holiday break. Sapphire went home to spend time with her father and Genny. The Weasley twins went home to the Burrow.

It was with much excitement that Sapphire tackled the twins the moment they entered the castle after returning from break. She wrapped her arms around their shoulders, squeezing the three of them into a group hug.

"How was your break? Tell me everything!" she gushed out with giddiness.

The boys smiled at her, preparing to tell her about all of the pranks they had gotten up to over break. They described in detail how they had snuck a smoke bomb into Percy's stocking and put a puking pastille into Ron's hot chocolate. Their mother had about kicked them out of the house by the time break was coming to an end.

Sapphire laughed along as the twins acted out Percy's annoyed expression at the smoke bomb and their mother's high pitched nagging voice. She had enjoyed her time at home with her small family, but she really missed the excitement that the boys brought into her life. Being a loner at home with her father wasn't as appealing as it used to be.

Everyone settled into the term, getting into the swing of their classes and resuming life as usual. The students were eating in the Great Hall one evening when Dumbledore had an announcement to share.

"My dear students, to celebrate your hard work so far this term, Hogwarts will be holding a Valentine's Day Dance on February 14th. All years are invited," he said, his voice booming throughout the large room.

The Hall erupted in excited clamor, with students already beginning to make plans for the dance. Sapphire was sat with Adrian at the Slytherin table among the other First Year students, and her gaze darted over to the Weasley twins. Hopefully they would ask her to tag along with them.

Dinner ended without much incident, and Sapphire caught up with the twins and Angelina as they were exiting the Great Hall.

"Hey, so what do you all think about the dance?" Sapphire asked once she was walking shoulder to shoulder with the group.

"I think it sounds fun," Angelina replied as they turned the corner, headed toward the Gryffindor common room. "We should all go together."

Sapphire smiled at Angie, happy that she suggested this. Though Sapphire had friends in her own house, she liked tagging along with this group a bit more.

"It seems kind of foolish to me," Fred said, a bored look on his face. "What are we supposed to do at a bloody Valentine's dance?"

"Ummmm...dance?" Sapphire replied with a small chuckle. She looked to George for support, but he just shrugged. She huffed.

"Oh, so you boys are too cool for a dance? Is that the problem?" she asked, poking fun at them.

"We just have better things to do," Fred said, still acting nonchalant. The group had made it all the way up the steps to the portraits, meaning that Sapphire would have to break off and return to her own common room.

"Fine. I'll just go with Angie and we'll have lots of fun without you," Sapphire said with a poignant flip of her hair. Both twins scoffed at her attempt at persuading them to go.

Before they could reply, Sapphire had already descended the stairs and turned the corner.

"Come on boys, you should go with us," Angie urged quietly. "If anything, you can just pull some pranks on Percy."
