Back on the surface, the rest of the crew watches in pure heartbreak as their beloved home gets dragged down. Not to mention, two of their friends were still in that same castle, being dragged to their demise. Many tears were shed, but most had to be from Meggy and Mario, the two last people who would ever see Smg3 and Smg4. Mario fell to his knees as he sobbed, with Meggy kneeling  beside him as they both watched the castle continue to fall. Luigi hugged Boopkins, while Saiko comforted Tari. Meggy quietly sobbed as she continued to see the castle sink. She had a little bit of hope that two were going to jump from below, making a grand escape, but they never did. After a few more minutes of silent cries, Meggy got up, wiping her tears and helping Mario up. "Come on Red..they wouldn't want us to cry..we have to figure out what we're going to do next.." The red Italian looked at the inkling, tears still there. "B-But what can we do Meggy!? The castle is gone! And so is my best friend!" Mario continues to sob. Meggy held him and sighs, a few more tears slipping out before she wiped them away. "We have to be strong Mario..Smg3 and Smg4 are watching us from the sky now..maybe they can give us a sign that they're still here with us..but for now, we need to find a place to stay.." She looks over at Luigi. "Do you think maybe we could..?" Luigi frowns a little, knowing what Meggy was going to ask "I'm sorry Meggy, our home is only enough for me and Mario..at best, we can let maybe two of you stay..?" Meggy sighs, shaking her head. "Then we'll just have to look harder..come on guys..we can't give up.."

---------------------------------------------------------

It's been hours after leaving the castle behind, and Meggy decided that she, Tari, Mario, and Luigi would crash at the Italian's home, while Saiko, Boopkins, and Bob crashed with Karen and her kids. It wasn't the best solution, but it was a solution nonetheless. Meggy sat on the couch, flipping through channels on the TV, too sad to even realize what she was doing. As she continued to flip through channels, the TV glitched, showing a logo of a familiar TV before going back to normal. Meggy put the remote down in confusion, but decided to brush it off. Tari came over and sat beside Meggy "Luigi finally got Mario to sleep.." she whispered, patting Meggy's back. "So..how are you feeling..?" she asks, wanting to help out however she can. Meggy sighs and looks at her, with tired eyes "Like absolute garbage Tari..Smg4's gone.." she lays back, looking at the ceiling. "Mario's right..what can we do..? Smg4 always led the crew, and we would follow his lead..but now he's gone.." Tari frowns and hugs Meggy. "I'm sure we'll think of something! We'll find a new home..and it might take some time but we can still do it Meggy..!" Tari says, trying to sound confident. Meggy gives her a pitiful smile "Maybe..I just feel so bad for Red..Mario Day was a total disaster..and now..his best friend's gone..and so is Smg3.." Meggy closes her eyes, trying to hold back tears again. Tari frowns once again. "What even happened back at the castle..?" She asks the inkling, who looks at Tari again "Well..we got Smg4 to snap out of it..and we were about to escape..but it ended up just being me and Mario who jumped out of the castle..I don't know what happened to Smg3 and Smg4..maybe that monster was trying to stop them from escaping.."

Tari continues to rub her back, listening to Meggy before saying, "Do you think some of us should go back down there to look for them..?" Meggy looked at Tari again, all hope lost in her eyes before shaking her head. "There's no way they could've survived that Tari.." she whispered sadly before crying again. Tari also had some tears slip out, as the two girls held each other. Luigi peeked over to the living room and frowned. While he wasn't so close with everyone, he knew he had to help. Luigi grabbed a few pillows and blankets before going over to Meggy and Tari, "Hey, I got you guys some things for the night..I'm sorry it's not much.." Meggy looked over, wiping her tears. "Thanks Luigi.." she said as she took the blankets and pillows. Tari organized everything to make it look like a tent. While they could've slept on the couch, they figured a nice cozy tent wouldn't hurt.

As the night went on, nobody could really sleep. All they could think about was their home gone and their friends dead. Everyone only had one thought in their mind, and that was:

"What's next?"

The answer to that is still unknown.
