Chapter 2

Months Later:
As the alarm blared, I huffed, letting a lone tear fall. I dreadfully got up and had a really cold shower. Applying a little makeup, I dressed up in a hoodie and sweatpants.
"Someone's here to see you," mom said and I went downstairs to see Maddie.
" What do you want? "
" To apologise. Honestly, I don't know what came over me. I was trying to separate you guys and-- I'm sorry. "
" Use the door when you're done. "
With that, she left and Tayla smiled.
" It's nothing to smile about,"
I huffed.
"I know," she said and I grabbed a sausage and stabbed it.
"Honey, she was trying to help," mom said and I rolled my eyes.
"Do you even understand what I'm saying?!" I screeched and left the house.
Getting to school, David held my hand.
" What're you doing here? Don't you have your little Maddie to kiss?!" I hissed and he sighed, making me roll my eyes and huff.
"I didn't know she was going to kiss me. I'm sorry,"
"It's fine. It's not your fault," I hissed and he sighed.
As I recalled everything, a huge frown graced my brows.
Flashback
David and I were arguing because I saw his ex, back at his house, holding him a tight hug. They looked so happy and jealousy took over. After she left, we began to argue and it heated up. He claimed she had a boyfriend, but who cares? As we were arguing, Maddie came out from his room. Why?
Either ways, she tried to calm us down but it wasn't working. Unexpectedly, she grabbed his neck and kissed him. A freaking long kiss. What the hell!!!
She claimed that she did it to separate us but, really?
After class, I saw Maddie and David talking.
Just when I wanted to talk to him. I rolled my eyes and walked past them but she held me back.
"I swear I will stay away from him if you want me to, but please don't leave me. You're my best friend and I can't bear loosing you. I'm sorry," she cried, holding me. Reluctantly, I forgave her and we went home. Am I naïve?
" I see you're back with a certain witch," Tayla huffed.
"Not now Tay," I warned and she hissed and went to her room.
Days Later:
"I'm serious Maddie. That was not nice at all,"
" I'm so sorry," she sniffed and I pulled her into a bone crushing hug. Yes, I forgave her.
"Really? You're back with that bit--"
"Tayla! Stop it. I don't care how you feel about my best friend. Keep your opinions to yourself, okay?!" I shouted and she started crying.
" Don't come crying when she gets together with David!" She equally yelled and left the house. Mom wasn't around and had a night shift. Tayla didn't come home too and didn't call. I know I should have called but I was too angry to care about her at the time.
The next day, I got to school and as usual had a little chat with David and Maddie, before going to look for Tayla.
I asked her friends but they said they hadn't seen or heard from her. I waited till lunch but nothing. I got really worried and called her best friend, Anna.
"Have you seen Tayla? She left home yesterday and I haven't seen her,"
" Before or after your argument?" She blurted sassily.
" After," I said rolling my eyes.
" I don't know,"
" C'mon Ann, I need to know if she's alright."
"If she wasn't I'd tell you, but she's fine."
" Tell me where my sister is!!"
" She went somewhere. That's all I can say," she hissed and hung up.
I groaned when I realized why she won't tell me where Tayla went, even when I yelled. Anna would spill when yelled at, especially by an older person.
Zane.
I knocked harshly on the door and waited. It took awhile before he opened up.
"Where's Tayla?"
"The hell am I to know?"
"Don't play with me Zane, I know she's in there,"
" She's not, okay?"
" Tayla! Tayla! Tayla!!!"
" Quit yelling!"
" Tayla better get out now!"
" You making a lot of noise, for real," he said about to close the door.
" I can see her shirt on your door Zane! Don't make me call the cops,"
" You joking right?" He huffed and laughed.
" I'll tell them we had a little argument and she left home, only to be kidnapped by you,"
" You sure you can hear yourself right?" He laughed. " The hell did I kidnapp her?"
"She only sixteen and is unable to know what she wants. Therefore, you emotionally coerced her and --"
" Enough! What the hell is wrong with you!?" Tayla yelled, coming out in his shirt alone.
" What are you-- Don't Tell me you guys did....it," I said unbelievably.
" Unlike what you think about Zane, he isn't like that, okay?. He gave me his shirt so I could change, since you didn't give me a heads up to pack," she said with an eyeroll.
" Pack? What are you saying? It was one meaningless argument,"
" Probably to you but not to me. I care about you and because you're head over heels for both your boyfriend and best friend, I see things you cannot.! The slight touches, the small smiles, the sweet bickering, the I'm-here-for-you-speeches! Everything Taylor! You cannot see them because you do not believe such can happen between people you trust. Sadly, it's happening, right under your nose and I try to tell you, to show you, but what do you do? You yell at me, ignore me...and you still want me to... Stay away from me Taylor Brown!"
With that, she slammed the door in my face. I didn't realise I was crying till the door opened and Zane handed me a handkerchief.
"I know, I may be a bad person to you and everyone else, but not to Tayla. I love her and I want what's best for her."
" I'm sorry Zane," I mumbled and he smiled a little.
" Though your words were pretty hurtful, I still understand. I mean you want what's best for her. And that is why I have decided to change. For her and to show everyone I'm worthy to be called Tayla Brown's boyfriend," he said and puffed his chest, making me laugh.
" I'm really sorry,"
"It's fine. One day, I'mma call you sister in law. For now, let her be. I'll bring her home, I promise."
" Thank you for looking after her,"
" It's no problem. "
He closed the door and I walked away.
