Background:
Jade Cassandra Black was born to Sarah and Billy Black on January 14th 1990 in La Push, Washington. Jade is the last child of Sarah and Billy; she is also the younger twin sister of Jacob Black, and the younger sister of twins; Rebecca and Rachel. Jade grew up in a very happy household full of love, laughter and mischief; especially playing in the mud with her brother and Bella Swan.
That was until tragedy happened and Sarah died in 1999 in a car crash. The house became cold and unhappy; which led to Billy spiralling down and sending Jade to the Gold Coast, Australia. That is where Jade learned gymnastics, singing, dancing, swimming, diving and surfing. Due to all her activities in swimming, Jade competed in swimming and surfing competitions which led her to becoming friends with Emma Gilbert; who later introduced Cleo Sertori, Lewis McCartney and finally, Rikki Chadwick.
The girl's lives changed forever on an unknown island; Mako Island.
Appearance:
Jade is a stunning young woman with long wavy black hair, tan-sun kissed skin, dark brown eyes and heart-shaped pink lips. Surprisingly, Jade is the smallest in the Black family and out of her her friends as she is five foot one, whilst everyone else is above five foot five.
Jade's appearance did not change after her transformation, however whenever she comes into contact with liquids that contain water, Jade will transform into a mermaid with long orange-scaled tails and often wear orange-scaled tops. Her tail is covered in scales that end in a classic dolphin-shaped fluke. She also has a short dorsal fin running along the back of her tail from her waist to a little more than halfway down her tail.

Abilities:
During her transformation in the Moon Pool at Mako Island, Jade received a gift of Gelidkinesis; which is the power to turn water and all things that contain water into a jelly-like compound. Jade can use it to change any liquids viscosity. She also has a gift of Substanciakinesis; which is the ability to harden water into a substance similar to glass or crystal, rendering it nearly indestructible, unlike ice that would eventually melt away or break. With this power, Jade can create a hardened surface atop water that is strong enough to support her body weight.
Notifiable Features:
Other than her stunning looks, transformation and abilities, Jade can always be seen wearing a sterling silver locket with a provence lavender crystal. The locket was created for her due to there only being three original lockets which belong to Rikki, Emma and Cleo. This led to Lewis creating Jade her own locket.
