Adam pov:
Adam paced his celestial chamber, the polished marble floor cool under his bare feet. The white robes he usually wore hung limply on a rack, replaced by a suit of armor that gleamed with an otherworldly silver sheen.
This armor, had seen little use. Its weight, though not unbearable, was a constant reminder of the brutality it was designed for. Today, it felt like a second skin, a necessary shroud for the mission that lay ahead.
He strapped on the breastplate, the intricate engravings depicting fallen angels locked in eternal battle sending chills down his spine. From a hidden compartment in his wardrobe, he retrieved a sleek, silver pistol. This weapon had been made by order of God, its celestial bullets capable of inflicting devastating wounds even on the most powerful demons.
Guilt gnawed at him as he tucked it into a concealed holster beneath his armour. This wasn't a sanctioned mission, not by a long shot. He was treading a dangerous path, teetering between righteous vengeance and forbidden magic.
The anxiety gnawed at him, but the image of Lute, her golden ichor staining the desolate ground of Hell, pushed him forward. He envisioned the smirk on Niffty's cherubic face, the cold, calculating glint in her eyes just before she threw the angelic dagger towards him, and it hitting Lute instead. That image fueled his anger, sharpened his resolve.
A soft chiming sound broke the silence, the signal announcing a visitor at his door. He took a deep breath, smoothing down the edges of his armour, hoping it wouldn't betray the turmoil within. This was it. The moment of truth. He opened the door to reveal Emily, her bright seraph wings shimmering in the celestial light. Her face, usually brimming with kindness, held a hint of worry.
"Adam," she said, her voice laced with concern. "I received your message. What has happened at Hazbin Hotel?"
Adam forced a smile, his heart pounding a frantic rhythm against his ribs. "Thank you for coming, Emily. The situation is... dire. There's been a demonic incursion. The hotel is under siege." He launched into his fabricated tale, weaving a narrative of struggling demons and overwhelmed defenses, all the while gauging Emily's reaction.
He saw the flicker of concern in her eyes, the spark of her unwavering faith in redemption battling with the raw worry etched on her features. This was his chance. He pressed his advantage, his voice thick with urgency. "They need our help, Emily. Innocent souls are at stake. Only your celestial power can open a temporary portal to help me go and protect them. Time is of the essence. Every second we delay, more lives are in danger."
He watched her closely, anticipation a tight knot in his stomach. Would she see through his deception? Would she refuse, leaving him with a gamble on forbidden magic? Or would she fall for his narrative, unwittingly becoming his accomplice on this path of vengeance? The answer, hanging in the balance, would determine the fate of his mission, and perhaps, the fate of Hazbin Hotel itself.
Emily's pov: As she received his message.
Concern gnawed at Emily like a persistent mosquito. Adam's message, delivered through the celestial network, pulsed with urgency. Hazbin Hotel, the beacon of hope in Hell, under siege? It felt impossible, a cruel joke. Yet, there was something in Adam's voice, a tremor of fear and desperation that resonated with her own protective instincts. Despite Sera's lingering skepticism about the Hotel's success, Emily held onto a sliver of hope - a hope she couldn't easily discard.
She found Adam pacing his pristine white chamber, the usual serenity replaced by a tense energy. He wore an archaic suit of armor, its silver sheen reflecting the celestial light in a way that sent a shiver down her spine. It felt like a relic of a bygone era, a chilling reminder of the brutality once necessary to maintain order. A pang of unease flickered within her, but it was quickly overshadowed by the urgency in Adam's eyes.
