Chapter Seventeen

Don't tell me, another major time-skip.

Naturally. I was wondering where you were.

I can't say I don't go anywhere, but you drop off the radar completely.

I don't even have a radar for you.

True. How'd the rest of the meeting go?

Nothing really remarkable happened after you cut out. Legend made a Kin-wide announcement on who's going.

Going? Going where?

To the Death Tower Kin, of course.

I thought that was just Good Freedom.

Well, Keon isn't helping us out this time. He's going to be with Rey and Legend and the other Chiefs. They're coming, too. So instead we were assigned four more people to bring with us on Last Orders as temporary teammates. And then there are going to be about a hundred more coming behind us on the slower vehicles.

The Chiefs have something like Last Orders?

It's not Omega-made, so it's a bit different, but it was made with a similar purpose. The only reason Rey takes a bike when he goes out instead of the craft is because he doesn't like large flying objects.

I guess that means it's a hovercraft.

So what about these four other people?

Oh, would you like to meet them?

You're standing in the same room as them right now, aren't you.

Caught me. Also, that was one of your question-statements again.

Three of the people who were assigned to Last Orders seemed fairly fidgety when they met the rest of us, so they're probably non-Omegas who aren't familiar with us. That means I don't have to pretend to remember them or explain my amnesia, though one of them was staring at the bandage around my head for a bit.

Three of them, but what about the fourth?

The fourth is Alexien.

I'm getting paranoid of even thinking her name. Every time I do, she pops up out of nowhere, almost like she's waiting to be cued.

My Omega senses are tingling.

I'm not sure how you'd have senses like that, seeing as there's no way that you could be an Omega.

Maybe I just have a feeling for these things. She's not normal, I can say that.

Well, she hasn't made any more to speak or get up from her seat on the other side of the control room. We haven't given those four anything to do yet. They're mostly along for the ride.

Amias has given me the wheel for most of today and he's vanished to the back of Last Orders, doing whatever tinkering he wants. I don't need to concentrate on driving much at the speed we're going. We might be leading the rest of the Force, with Legend and the Chiefs bringing up the rear, but we can't just jet off at any speed we'd like. Everyone else has much slower ground vehicles, not to mention the equipment we brought if the confrontation turns violent. At this rate, we won't make it to the Death Tower Kin until tomorrow.

Oh yeah, I wanted to ask. Any more memories coming to you? I mean, know you know what Legend's like again. I kinda want to know her story. It's been a while since we last went over memories.
