[This story is going to be from the POV of my OC, Worm. Worm resembles those little worm-on-a-string things that were popular in the early 2000s. They're yellow and can choose between slithering on the ground or 'standing' up to move around. (slither is faster) They use they/them pronouns and are 20 years old]

Where am I?

"Hello?"

"HELLO?!"

Am I alone? Where are my hands? WHATS WRONG WITH MY BODY?!

I looked around. Everything was so colorful. And big. It was some sort of place filled with stairs and slides and blocks and hallways. But it was so quiet. Too quiet. I would've thought it was abandoned had it not looked so nice.

I dropped to the ground and started sliding around. How did I know how to move this body? As if this was the only body I was ever given?

I could've lied there and hoped there would be people to find me but I decided that was a waste of time. For all I knew, I could've been the only thing here that was alive. I just started wandering the halls aimlessly. I was looking for . . . what was I looking for? I way out? Another person? Or was this all a dream? That felt more like it.

I wandered around the circus for an hour. I looked at the crossed out faces on the doors and wondered what they meant. I found some other faces that were untouched and wondered what that meant. I opened several doors as always found something strange on the other side. After five or so doors, I opted out of opening them. I sound slides and ball pits and jungle gyms. There was so much. But no one there to enjoy it.

I was exploring the digital world by myself for an hour before I heard sounds. Were those voices? I slithered in the direction of the noise. I had felt like I was going to be saved. The first person I saw was Kinger. I remember thinking how odd it was to see a chess piece with eyeballs. For a moment, we both paused and stared at one another.

Maybe it's weird for that to see me too. Am I even human anymore? , I thought.

I slowly slithered my way forward. But I stopped. It was crying. The chess piece was crying. I was making it cry. Something was wrong. This isn't right. It just kept staring at me. And shaking. It looked like it was struggling to breathe, suggesting that it did, in fact, need to breathe. It slowly crept closer to me until it was kneeling before me.

"Hi.", it said. I wondered if he appeared here too. Perhaps he had been stuck here for years and I was the first . . . thing he had seen in a long time.

"Hi.", I said.

Silence.

"Follow me", it said and I obeyed. I followed him and didn't ask questions. Mainly because I was scared to. I was lost and afraid. And lost people need to follow non-lost people.

I followed him for a few minutes before coming across some of the strangest creatures. I saw a doll, a rabbit, a clown, and . . . What the hell?! The chess piece spoke, "Guys! I found someone! They were lost.".

The creatures turned to look at me. The abomination floating in the air flew towards me. As it spoke, it was loud; "OH MY!!! A new human has appeared! Welcome! To the AMAAAAZING Digital Circus! My name is Caine! I'm the ringmaster here."

"Circus?", I said. "Human... I'm human. But not human?"

"Well, yes! You are a human. But also your body is weird. You're one of seven members here at the circus! They, like you, appeared here in bodies they also did not recognize!", he stated enthusiastically. Like this situation was incredibly joyous.
