"Is this the English Lit class?" I asked the teacher standing by the door holding the subject books.

"Indeed. Welcome miss-"

"Arielle. I'm Arielle." I finished for him.

He smiled and I walked into the classroom. This was my first day of sophomore year and I didn't know anyone in this classroom....YET! I walked all the way to the back of the classroom to find a free table. I dragged down my chair and just as I was to sit down I saw one of my classmates, Matthew from last year come in. He waved at me and came towards my direction with another guy that I haven't seen before.

"Arielle! Meet my new friend" Matthew smiled at me.

"Hi, I'm Arielle." I smiled to the new guy standing next to Jake. He smiled back before he introduced himself politely.

"I'm Justin. Nice to meet you." There was something about him that I somehow found interesting. He seemed...special.

We sat down on the last table in the classroom and put up our notebooks and pencil cases.

"Hey Arielle, can I have some paper?" Matthew asked quickly before the lesson started. I pulled out some paper out of my book and handed it to him.

"Hello, students. Welcome to English Lit. My name is Mason and I will be teaching you this year. Before we start, let ut introduce ourselves first." He says in a friendly tone. Everyone seemed excited to get to know more people. We barely knew anyone and this was a nice opportunity.

Most people introduced themselves very quickly, now before it was my turn, a blonde girl had to introduce herself.

"Hi, I'm Denna and I'm 16 years old. I like to go to parties and have fun." She says in a monotone voice. The teacher smiled at her and then nodded at me. I was nervous. I had no clue at all what to say. There's nothing really that I like but sitting at home and watching tv.

"Hello...Uhm my name is Arielle. I'm 16 years old and I like ...uhm hanging out with my close friends." I stated.

"Great." He nodded at Justin now. It was his turn. I was somehow excited to hear him introducing himself. I was kind of curious...you could say."

"Hi, I'm Justin. 16 and I play basketball." He said. Oh...a basketball player. Is that so. I always had a thing for basketball players. Anyway, Matthew introduced himself quickly before we started our english lesson.

I don't really know why. But I had this weird feeling throughout the lesson. I felt like someone was watching me. Not in a negative way though, I think I kind of liked it. At first I was too shy to look back, but eventually I did. I did infact look into his eyes. His big brown eyes. I froze for a second and blushed immediately. No, I don't like him. But there is something there I must say. He turned to Matthew quickly. He seemed to be an interesting guy that Justin kid right there.

After class ended, I checked the time so I could make it to the subway. I ran as fast as I could to make it, but I ended up not to. The subway station was pretty empty. I suppose everyone else made it to the subway, but of course I had to go to the bathroom before running to the subway. I missed it by a few seconds. I was about to put my headphones on right before I saw Justin walking down the stairs. I acted like I didn't see him and quickly put my earphones on. No music on though. I could hear his footsteps better and better for every second that passed. I looked down before I heard his voice.

"Hi, Arielle right?" He asked in a sweet voice. I looked up at him and nodded shyly. He sat down next to me. There was definitely an akward silence there. We didn't really speak until the subway arrived and realization hit me that I had so many stops to go.

"Where to?" He asked me when we entered the subway.

"Central station." I responded. "You?" I asked immediately.

"Central station." He answered in a casual tone. I had so many thoughts in my head right at that moment, but I didn't really speak much. We stayed silent for a minute or two before he started a conversation with me.

"So, you from here?"

"Nope not originally. I moved from spain when I was 10 and I have lived here since." I answered before the obvious follow up question.

"You?"

"I'm originally Canadian. London, Stratford in Canada. But I have lived here most of my life. I was born here, actually."

We continued talking the whole way until the central station. I got to know so much more about him. He is a nice guy. He was a sweetheart when we started talking, but the tension between us was kind of awkward.

"I guess I'll see you tomorrow." He smiled before he hugged me goodbye. His hugs were the best. And he smelled sooo good. I just wish we had more time together. These 10 minutes went by so fast.

3 MONTHS LATER

"Happy Birthday Arielle!"

My bestfriend, Danielle
yelled into the classroom. She ran towards me and hugged me tight. All of my friends started greeting me and we cut my birthday cake. "Happy birthday, Arielle!" Justin smiled and hugged me tight. "Thank you!" I smiled. I felt so happy at that moment. It was my birthday and I was super excited for the party.

Later that night, when all of the guests had arrived there was just one person missing. Justin. He still hadn't showed up. At around 9 PM I just assumed he wouldn't show up at all. And I must admit that I kind of made me sad.
