Chapter 14

The next morning Alex woke up early and decided to make breakfast for everyone.

                                                                  30 minutes later:

After Alex had cooked and set the table she heard a set of feet coming down the stairs. She turned around to see it was David holding Julian. They were talking and Julian didn't look scared of him.

"Oh hey Alex," said David when he saw her.

"Hey. Why do you have Julian," she asked.

"She came looking for you and Ben but she found my room, so I stayed up with her since three this morning because she couldn't sleep," he said.

"Did you have another nightmare sweetie," asked Alex.

She nodded her head yes.

"Wait, she has them often?"

"Yes, her old father and mother abused her, so she has nightmares about them."

David looked at her and said, "Julian, if your mommy would let me, I can take you to out to the park and then we can go get some ice cream."

"Can I mommy?"

"Of course sweetie, just behave for Mr. David."

"Thank you mommy."

"Well come on, lets wake everyone up and eat breakfast guys."

They both smiled and ran up stairs banging on doors, earning a lot of cussing wolfs to yell at them.

                                                                   After breakfast, with David and Julian:

"Okay Julian, are you ready to play at the park," asked David.

"Yeah," she replied very excitedly.

"Then lets go."

They got out of the car and walked over to the playground. Once they got there Julian tried to get up to the slide but she couldn't. David picked her up and climbed up so they could both slide.

"Are you ready," he said from behind her.

"Yes!"

They slid down and Julian was laughing the whole time. While they were at the park they also went on swings, more slides, jungle gym, and in the sand box. They had all kinds of fun. But soon enough it was time to go get ice cream.

"Julian, lets go and get that ice cream I promise you."

"Ice cream!"

She ran up to him and jumped into his arms. David laughed and put her down while grabbing her hand. But once she was on the ground she hid behind his leg and got a scared look on her face.

"Sweetie, what's wrong," asked David as he bent down to her level.

She pointed behind him to a man wearing all black, she whispered "That's my old daddy, please don't let him hurt me again."

"I won't baby."

The man saw them and started to come over, "Aw, there you are Julian, you don't need to run away like that, you could get hurt. I'm sorry sir if she cause any trouble, I will just take her and be on my way."

"I don't think so, you hurt her and I'm not going to let you touch her again."

"What did you say you little prick."

"You heard me asshole."

The man whipped out a knife and stabbed David in the stomach. Julian screamed. Julian's father ran off before the police showed up. In the background Julian could hear people shouting say "Call 9-1-1," but she didn't care, she was just sitting by David hoping he would be alright.

"Please David, don't leave me. I need you, mommy needs you, and your pack needs you."

"Don't worry baby, nice people are coming to take me to the hospital and you will ride with me there. At the hospital they will call your family and they will come and wait with you. I promise I won't leave you, and your father isn't going to hurt you, I promise."

By that time the ambulance was there and they loaded David into it, then they rode to the hospital together.
