You place God before love, a noble quest,
Rejection stings, but your reasons stand the test.
A woman like you, with such a gentle grace,
Is someone I can't help but long to embrace.
Call me naive, perhaps a touch unwise,
Clinging to hope in promises that never rise.
Our similarities, a spark that could ignite,
But friendship fades when silence fills the night.
Grief lingers, fueled by what might have been,
Words unspoken, trust that's wearing thin.
I yearn for a future we could build as one,
Yet doubt creeps in, the damage it has done.
Should success find me, and love remain unseen,
If I can be the man you dream of, serene,
May I then have another chance to prove,
My love, my loyalty, my endless, fierce pursuit?
A love ordained, a bond divinely spun,
From one of His creations, the chosen one.
But waiting for a time that may not appear,
Might leave us both with only fading cheer.
