Switch! (Akutagawa x reader)

Chapter Fifteen

y/n's pov: 

you and akutagawa had reached the airport by now, and you were waiting to check in. you'd usually fly in a private jet, but it'd usually be a hassle, aspecially if it was to a foriegn country, and you wanted to skip it this time, so you had to deal with the terrible queues for once. your flight was at three, and the time was now midnight. you thought arriving to the airport three hours before your flight would be nice, but so did everyone else. so basically, you were going to wait at least an hour. the good part though is how you were going to spend that hour with your boyfriend.

"you got your fake passport, right?" he asked you after you were standing for a while. right.. you were on japan's wanted list. not just you, but akutagawa aswell. going through the airport was a great risk, but you were a champion at faking your personality. the police don't know anything about you except your last name. yes, even your first name wasn't known to the lawforce.

"yeah. the police know you though, so how are we getting through security?" you replied. it was true. the port mafia doesn't make the effort to hide their identity. it may be troublesome, but it got them a brutal reputation. the problem was that you weren't going to have an easy time getting out of the country. 

"oh, look at the security guards and you'll see" he told you. then you realised.. not just the security guards, but many other people were from the port mafia. they infiltrated the security force.

After that, the security checks and everything went well and soon you both were looking for your gate. it was all so good! maybe a little too good.

by the time you had found your gate, you had about an hour before you could get on the plane. you thought it was a good idea to eat some overpriced airport food, despite the short amount of time. 

"hey, you wanna eat some sushi?" you asked akutagawa, to which he gladly agreed. he told you in the car he hadn't eaten anything since he saw you earlier at the shopping district. apparently, kyusaku wouldn't leave him alone for a second due to the way fyodor predicted his intentions. the only way he could leave to drive to your place was because elise wanted to play hide & seek with kyusaku. even if the two children may seem different, with elise being openly bratty and very honest about her opinions, and with yumeno having a small tolerance towards people he doesn't like or towards humans in general, the two are both a complete menance to society, and somehow they get along very well. 

you both ordered the sushi end got it after a few minutes. as you were eating it, akutagawa seemed way paler than he already was. you thought it was the lighting, perhabs, but he stopped eating aswell. he looked at a guy which seemed to be around your age, even a little younger. and he looked at him with a scared look. he was terrified, and you had no idea why.

"At..sushi?" he said, mumbling something to himself. was there something wierd in his food or something? 

"the sushi?" you said. your boyfriend was acting really wierd. he usually isn't scared like this, even more so when in public. he acted as if he saw someone from highschool whom he didn't want to meet again. he quickly finished his sushi, and looked down at the floor, but why?

"no.. uhm.. could we go somewhere else? there's somene i didn't want to meet here" he whispered to you. so he was looking at the floor because he didn't want to be recognized by that guy. was he a past toxic friend maybe? you didn't know, but you just happened to finish your sushi aswell, so you left and went back to your gate.

"that guy i was looking at was my ex.. if you were wondering" he finally told you after a few minutes of sitting in silence. when you think about it, it really takes a lot of akutagawa to form an explanation to stuff. why? and how on earth was his ex here?
