"It's been so long since we hung out, right, Leon?" Pamella said, looking at me.
"Yeah." I replied.
We came over to the mall to watch the movie named, 'Amaryllis: The movie.'
People said it was like a filler but honestly many are going there just for romance so it doesn't matter. Honestly, I knew dad was some rich bigshot but I had no clue he was so rich to actually close down the whole mall for a day along with the whole Street surrounding it. Pamella's parents on the other hand, made sure to pay the people in shops extra for the day in order for them to not record us along with booking the whole cinema hall which consists of multiple theatres.
I also knew that I and she would be accompanied by helpers and bodyguards hired to protect us but I can't be the only one thinking they are too many for just two children. But then again, I am a celebrity kid now, it should make sense.
"So," She started, "Do you enjoy being rich?"
"Well, I am definitely not used to getting surrounded by so many people, that's the main problem."
"You are not surprised by how much power you have?"
"I expected it. If dad said he will do something he will go over the top for everything. The power doesn't surprise me but being around so many people definitely makes me nervous."
"Damn you are a different breed altogether. I definitely held back a lot when I first came. If I asked for something, I got it. No matter how expensive it was. Being with so many maids who you can command felt scary. I could even fire them if I didn't like them. And you are saying you are just overwhelmed by the amount of people you are surrounded with and not how the whole mall and the whole theatre was rented for us and how the shops were paid extra for today?"
"No. Money brings power afterall and helpers just do their work around the mansion as ordered by the employer. If you don't like them they are not working properly and you fire them. And once you get that money, you can use it however you want. No one questions it. It's simple."
"Ehhh…", Pamella exclaimed, "Were you already rich before getting adopted?"
"Dad fit it into my brain in the past three months. I just enjoy daddy's money now."
"Damn. You make me wanna throw money too."
"You should just know what you are spending on and how much you are spending. If it makes you happy it's good but if it satisfies your ego or greed or you are spending it to maintain your social status or look cool in front of others or to look down on others, it's wrong."
"Your dad has made you fully prepared huh?"
"It was not dad this time. It was my brother."
"Mr. Daniel has adopted two people?"
"Of course not. It was my biological brother. I think I didn't tell you before. My brother and I were put in an orphanage after our parents died and he was adopted by someone else but I have no clue where he is now."
This is half truth. I can't tell the full truth but I need to say something related to my background such that she can spread it to her parents and they can spread it to others and be less suspicious of me. Dad asked to do this and even said that if the helpers and bodyguards around would be listening then it would evoke less suspicion on my background.
"You would be able to find him now that you have gone viral."
"Who knows?"
I would rather no one find me because if they do then…
"Hey," Pamella started, "Ya miss your brother?"
"Sort of."
She then stopped and whispered in my ear, "Wanna see something funny? This is not a nice thing but it's fun."
"Yeah sure." Since it's fun.
"See this key chain?" It was a green keychain shaped like a leaf. It had a small bicycle key on it.
"Yeah."
"It changes colour."
"Seriously?"
"Yeah. If I bounce it enough." She started to throw the keychain in the air and catch it. The higher she threw, the farther it came down and she had to change positions until she could catch it. I followed her until she was near the railing.
I heard someone asking her to be careful. Welp, she ignored it. But the next time she threw the keychain, it went down the third floor.
"No! My chain!" Uh-oh. Suddenly, I had no idea from where a bodyguard came forth and jumped down the railing. No he will die. I rushed towards the railing and looked down for the man to have grabbed hold of the keychain in air and land safely and then come up and hand over the keychain.
"Are you crazy? What if you would have died?" Pamella asked.
"We are trained, Miss. But thankyou for worrying about us." The bodyguard replied.
"Geez…", Pamella said and she held my hand and dragged me towards the theatre. We then sat ourselves down and the movie started.
She then finally spoke, "Did you enjoy it?"
"The colour of the keychain changed?"
She held it forth. It was now orange. Wow! That's so cool.
"No idea why this happens but it's cool. Still, this was not the thing I was showing. The stunt. Did you enjoy it?"
"Were you–"
"Yes. I planned it."
"You are a menace to society."
"Everybody says it."
"Gosh!"
"Haha! Enjoy the movie."
"Well ya. It was actually amazing though. Crazy stuff."
"Knew it." She said, chuckling.
She is a bit spoiled but not all bad and that's what adds to her charm.
She is the person who grows on you and I honestly am enjoying this process of liking her more every time and I want to continue enjoying it until forever.
