"Hey Danny!" Felix waved at me from his seat in the cafe to call me.
"Hi. How are you?" I said, coming over.
"Am good. You?"
"I am good too. Been a while since we met, right?"
"Actually. We should plan out things more often."
"I swear. But still you are so busy that it's hard to ask you out. Reid seems to have more time in his hands than you."
"Oh please! Have any idea how much I have to research for teaching?"
"Well yeah it's actually a tough task. I remember how one day I came to your house unannounced and saw you surrounded by books and between them like performing some black magic ritual. Anyone who would have seen you like that would have freaked out. I never dared to come to your home after that without informing."
"That was my first student and I wanted to do good so I tried to be my best but later I got to know in feedback that it would be better if I was less like a robot."
"Robot–", this almost made me choke on my coffee. "He really said that?"
"Yeah. He said, 'Mr. Felix you are an amazing teacher but more like a robot than a human.' That hurt so much and I was trying to be perfect in every aspect little did I know it will make me look like a guy with zero passion."
"Oh god… you had it rough yeah?"
"That was my first job experience. What do you expect? I later started being the fun teacher but the next kid never took me seriously. I got a warning from the parents to reduce the fun aspect."
"Geez… what happened after that?"
"I somehow managed to balance it out but it was super awkward. An honest conversation with the student made us reach a common ground and the term went by smoothly I was still replaced though."
"I think it was the third year of you teaching, right? You went jobless for a few months because your organisation experts thought you were not really capable."
"Exactly! It was so bad. It was also around the time Reid completed his training and got posted as a police officer. I lived off of him for a while."
"Mann… you really did reach your lowest at an early age, yeah?"
"No doubt but it was still good because living with Reid, I realised he is not as bad as I thought of him. He even helped me strike a balance between making teaching enjoyable and making sure the kid is taking you seriously, you know?"
"Wow. Never knew you hated Reid. Still, it's amazing you both managed to get along well as adults."
"I know. Honestly, it was our parents who made me hate him. They were very subtle so it's possible you won't know about it. Still, what shocked me was that like me, Reid left home and never came back. I thought he will still keep contact with them. I think the silent expectations killed him too."
"It's been around ten years, right?"
"Yeah. I think even our parents now know that we will never come back to meet them, though, we will still give them money if they ever need it."
"That's quite cruel." I never expected these two brothers to be this ruthless. Honestly, makes me feel like I know nothing about them. I have spent almost my whole life with them still there's aspects that I don't know about. Will it be worse for Leon considering how I have spent only around a year with him. I know there's some things I don't know about him but, how many things am I unaware of to be precise?
