Yue wiped her brow, her arms aching from the weight of the boxes she lugged into her new abode. "God, these are heavy as fuck," she breathed out, setting them down with a thud. Her new apartment, while not expansive, held promise as a cozy haven for one or two souls.

The anticipation of her impending move to a new school in just two weeks had propelled her to relocate early, hoping to acclimate herself to the unfamiliar surroundings. But as she surveyed the barren space, devoid of the promised comforts of a bed or chairs, a sinking feeling settled in her stomach. "Shit... please don't tell me that I have to sleep on the ground," she murmured with a despondent sigh.

As she contemplated her predicament, hunger pangs gnawed at her insides, prompting her to scour the internet for nearby eateries.

"Mhmm

"Mhmm... I could ask them if they wanna come with me... nahh, I think I'll pass on that," she mused, quickly dismissing the notion. Finding a suitable spot, she bid farewell to her pets, ensuring they were well provided for in her absence.

Closing the door behind her, Yue caught a glimpse of her reflection in the window. She smoothed down her skirt and adjusted her blouse, her outfit complemented by a small bag containing essentials like her phone and wallet.

With a confident stride, she made her way to the nearest bus station, the bustling streets alive with the rhythm of her favorite tunes

With a confident stride, she made her way to the nearest bus station, the bustling streets alive with the rhythm of her favorite tunes.

Passersby couldn't help but stare at her, their curious gazes lingering on her striking white hair and piercing lavender eyes. Irritation prickled at the back of her mind, but she pushed it aside, focusing on reaching her destination.

As Yue rode the bus through the maze of unfamiliar streets, her mind drifted, lost in the passing scenery outside. A shy voice interrupted her thoughts, and she turned to find a short, chubby boy standing beside her, his request to sit jolting her back to reality.

"Um... do you mind if I sit here?" he asked timidly, his eyes darting nervously.

Yue offered a practiced smile, her voice reassuring as she replied, "Yes, of course." She returned her gaze to the window, her hand supporting her head as she watched the world whiz by.

After a few minutes, she noticed the boy scribbling furiously in a notebook, his pen dancing across the pages. Intrigued by his creativity, Yue noticed that he was writing some lyrics, a shared love for expression stirring within her. Yet, she hesitated to strike up a conversation, mindful of the unspoken rules of bus etiquette.

Soon she to get up as she reached her destination. "Excuse me," she murmured, tapping the boy's shoulder gently. "Could you please let me pass?" He nodded, offering her a polite smile as she made her way swiftly to the exit.

Stepping off the bus, Yue glanced at her navigator, determined to find her way in this unfamiliar city.

After navigating through a maze of unfamiliar streets and a crowded bus ride, she finally arrived at the restaurant, a proud grin lighting up her face at the sight of food.

Settling into a solitary table, she couldn't shake the sense of loneliness that enveloped her as she watched families and friends revel in each other's company. "Somehow, it feels horrible sitting here all alone," she admitted to herself, a small frown tugging at her lips. But despite the ache of solitude, the food offered a fleeting respite from her solitude.

Returning home to her cold, empty apartment, Yue's heart felt heavy with the weight of loneliness. She quickly changed into her pajamas and performed her nightly skincare routine, the familiar rituals offering a sense of comfort in the unfamiliar surroundings. As she fashioned a makeshift bed from a pillow and blanket, her faithful pets nestled close beside her, offering silent companionship in the darkness.

Lying awake in the stillness of her new home, Yue stared up at the ceiling, her thoughts swirling with hopes and uncertainties. "I hope things are different here," she whispered into the quiet night, longing for the warmth of human connection to dispel the chill of solitude.
