Yue awoke from her restless slumber, stretching her arms overhead and yawning as her two cats nestled on her lap. For a brief moment, panic gripped her as she struggled to remember where she was, before the realization dawned—she had just moved in. Her two cats, Cheesebro and Tango Mango, lay on her lap, their comforting presence a balm to her discomfort. Gingerly lifting her furry companions off her, she winced at the ache in her back from sleeping on the cold floor.
With the chirping of birds outside her open window, Yue groggily made her way to her makeshift kitchen, grumbling about her discomfort. "God, everything hurts like a bitch," she muttered under her breath, shuffling through empty cupboards in search of sustenance.
The birds chirped outside her open window, a cheerful backdrop to her search. "I swear if today my bed won't come, I will kill myself," she grumbled, searching through her empty kitchen for breakfast options. Her hopes for a satisfying breakfast at home dwindled as she resigned herself to the idea of dining out.
„God... means I have to eat breakfast outside," she sighed, resigned to her fate. Quickly freshening up, Yue faced the daunting task of choosing an outfit from the sea of boxes containing her clothes.
After much deliberation and glaring at her DIY wardrobe, she settled on an ensemble, though her black oversized jacket and a leather jacket on top of it seemed to mock her indecision. "Thirty minutes wasted, and no one will even see it under these," she lamented, exasperated.

Before stepping out, she planted quick kisses on her pets, the chill in the air prompting her to grab a hat to ward off the cold. "Nahhh. Let me get a hat. My ears are fucking freezing," she muttered, snatching her black beanie before venturing into the brisk morning air.
Navigating the streets with a mix of irritation and determination, Yue's trek to the bakery was met with stares from passersby. "God, these people really have a staring problem," she grumbled, feeling the weight of their curious gazes. But her annoyance was soon interrupted by a bold proposition from a boy whose ego seemed to be taller than him. Brushing him off with a nonchalant "Nah," Yue pressed on, her destination clear in her mind.
Entering the bakery, she was greeted by the enticing aroma of fresh pastries, a welcomed reprieve from the chill outside.
Finally... I'm starving. Yue opened the door to the bakery as the smell of freshly baked goods hit her face. God, she could sleep in that smell. She quickly got in line while thinking about her options for a hot drink. Soon it was her turn to order. God... please don't have a crack in your voice, Yue... she thought to herself as she hated ordering food.
"Good morning! What can I get for you?" the nice lady in front of her asked. "Um.. can I have a croissant and.. um. Aaaa..." Yue started to sweat as she forgot what she wanted" uhm a black coffee?" she grinned painfully as she had just ordered a b.l.a.c.k. coffee. The clerk looked at her in surprise. "Are you sure you want a black coffee?" Yue's grin widened as she nodded. "Yes, yes... um, I need the energy." The woman was silent after that.
Ordering her breakfast with a mix of nervousness and determination, Yue couldn't help but feel a twinge of satisfaction as she awaited her meal, her hunger outweighing any embarrassment over her simple coffee order.
Yue sat in her chair now, waiting for her breakfast. She watched the people coming and going. Yue's attention was drawn to a pair of people engaged in a comical exchange nearby, maybe 1-2 years younger. One was a boy with slicked back black hair who was quite tall, and the other was a girl with soft brown hair and a kind face. The boy looked like he was apologising for something, while the girl looked away in annoyance.
With a snicker, she observed their interaction, finding amusement in their dynamics as a third-party observer.
Soon her food arrived as she thanked the waiter before he left. She looked at the croissant and coffee in front of her with happiness written all over her face. She was so hungry. She didn't care if it was the wrong coffee.
Standing up from her seat, Yue made her way to a nearby hardware store to purchase wall color for her apartment. After browsing the options, she settled on a rich wine-red hue, envisioning the warmth it would bring to her living space. Alongside the paint, she couldn't resist picking up a cute decoration—a small cat figurine with its paws raised, perfect for holding keys or other trinkets. Admiring its adorable cat, Yue made her way to the subway station, eager to return home and begin decorating.
As she boarded the train, Yue found herself lost in the rhythmic motion of the journey, her gaze drifting out of the window. The fading houses and bustling streets blurred into a mesmerizing panorama, accompanied by the soothing strains of her favorite music. Lost in her thoughts, she hardly noticed when a tall boy with brown fluffy hair and a white dog settled into the seat beside her. Somehow he looked familiar but she ignored it.
Though aware of his presence, Yue paid him little mind, content to immerse herself in the sights passing by outside. However, she couldn't shake the sensation of his burning stare, a silent intensity that lingered in the air between them. Despite the unspoken tension, Yue remained unfazed, her focus set on the task awaiting her at home.
The walk to her apartment was serene, with Yue taking in the sights and sounds of her quiet neighborhood. The gentle hum of passing cars, the rustle of leaves underfoot, and the distant rush of water from the nearby river created a peaceful atmosphere. Above, birds soared towards the horizon, their departing chirps adding to the symphony of nature.
Arriving home, Yue was greeted by the enthusiastic welcome of her beloved pets. "God, I missed you three too," she chuckled affectionately, reciprocating their excitement with kisses on their foreheads. After slipping out of her shoes, she turned her attention to the wall color she had purchased, contemplating her next steps.
With her furry companions by her side, eager to transform her new space into a cozy sanctuary. . Eyeing the wall color and decorations she had purchased, it was time to start the real process.
