Chapter 4: The Project

Annabeth's Pov (or Thea)

I watched as he walked into Room 118-Mr Blofis' class.

I came in after him and took a seat in the back.

Percy was talking to Mr. Blofis and started laughing as he patted him on the back.

Then, he sat at the desk in front of me.

"Hello everyone. We have a new student here with us." Mr. Blofis said. "Would you like to introduce yourself?"

I nodded and stood up.

"My name is Thea Channabes and I came here from California. I attended Goode High in 9th grade but had to leave due to... uhmmm... stuff." I said.

Not a complete lie. She came from California even if she was only there for 2 weeks. She did attend Goode High and had to leave because she had a world tour. Her name isn't Thea Channabes but it's an anagram. If you rearrange Annabeth Chase you get Thea Channbes.

I sat back down while Mr. Blofis said, "Thank you, Thea." He winked when he said my name.

All the teachers knew I was Annabeth Chase. How could they not? It was in my application. They all agreed to keep it a secret, mostly because they didn't want students to gossip and not pay attention in class. Little did they know, the students already did that.

He kept talking about the grammar and fluency needed to write an essay, which was easy, to me at least.

"You'll be writing an essay about any topics that interest you, with a partner." said Mr. Blofis.

Right then, everyone started trying to go with their friends and talk. Mr Blofis ruined that by saying, "Which I will be picking."

There was a loud chorus of groans.

He kept reading names off the list until he got to my name.

"A- Thea and Percy."

Percy turned to me with a wide grin. I returned it.

"Wanna meet at my house after school at 5:30 to do the project?" he asked.

"Yeah, sure. Text me the address later and I'll come."

"Okay."

The rest of the day went by quickly. Each period changing throughout the day. Thalia and I were driving home to get her suitcases and drop her off at Jason's, well her's too.

"Hey Annie?" she asked.

"I told you not to call me that."

"Fine, Thea?"

I rolled my eyes. "Not what I meant but what's your question?"

"Why didn't you tell Percy?"

"I-I don't know if I can trust him yet," I replied. "He's your cousin and he's friends with my friends, but I just met him. Don't you get it?"

Thalia frowned but nodded.

I went inside the house and grabbed her stuff. Then, I put it in the trunk of my car and drove to her home.

We talked for a while, made jokes, and shared laughs.

I parked in the driveway and got out of the car with Thalia. I carried her suitcase up the steps of her mansion and waited at the door. She rang the doorbell and Jason opened it.

"Hey, Thalia. Hey Annabeth." he said.

"Hey."

"Where's dad?" Thalia said immediately.
