Chapter 5: Music Class

Annabeth's Pov (or Thea)

I ran to music class in a hurry.

I was already late because I had to run around a track in P.E. Now I have to run even more. Hooray!

I pushed open the door and everyone's eyes were on me. I ignored them and turned to Mr. Apollo.

"Sorry, I'm late. I was held up."

"It's okay. Just try to be on here next time."

He gave me a wink and I smiled.

I'm already his favorite student because of my voice.

I sat down next to Thalia and Piper while Percy waved at me. I waved back.

"We can begin now that everyone is here," Mr. Apollo continued. "We will be in groups to write and perform a song in 2 days. I will be choosing the groups."

I was excited. This would be my first chance to perform with others.

"For Group 1: Leo, Frank, Hazel, and Juniper."

I knew right then that Leo would sing. He was the most outgoing in the group.

"Group 2:Travis, Connor, Katie, and Piper."

Piper slumped but smiled at Katie. "This is gonna be interesting." she said. Everyone knows that you can never get work done when you're with the Stolls.

I patted her back.

"Group 3: Silena, Charles, Jason, and Drew."

Piper jumped out of her seat.

"What?!" she shouted.

"Ms. Mclean, is there anything you'd like to say?" asked Mr. Apollo.

He had that face that said, 'If you say anything, I'll send you to the Principal's office.'

"No sir," Piper grumbled and sat back down. She turned to me and whispered, "She's gonna flirt with my boyfriend."

"Well, that's Drew for you. It's okay. It's not like Jason will do anything with her." I said.

"He's so oblivious, he won't even realize she's flirting with him. It's like a brick hit head when it comes to girls."

I laughed.

Mr. Apollo continued saying the groups.

" Group 4: Thalia, Thea, Grover, and Percy."

It took me a moment to process that.

I was in a group with Percy! Oh, and Thalia and Grover of course.

I high-fived Thalia and saw Grover and Percy do the same.

"Group 5: Reyna, Rachel, Octavian, and Calypso."

I gave Reyna a sympathetic look.

Octavian was a stuck-up snob. Rachel would always say nonsense, but she was super nice, and Calypso was a brat. I heard she changed but I'll have to see it in person.

Percy and Grover walked over to us and sat down.

"How should we get started on the project?" said Grover.

"Well, we could meet up at my place." I said.

"That's great!" exclaimed Percy.

"What do you think, Thalia?" asked Grover.

"Whatever."

That was her response. Classic Thalia.

The bell rang and we exited class.
