I woke up to a blaring alarm clock.

"Ugh." I groaned.

"Percy. You better be up!" My mom called from the kitchen.

"I am!"

I got out of bed and got dressed.

I wore a white shirt and denim jeans with a blue flannel wrapped around my waist. I tied the shoelaces of my blue Converse.

I walked over to the mirror and was greeted by my sea green eyes staring back at me.

I put a hand through my black hair, not using a brush because I knew it wouldn't help. A cap was on bed so I put it on.

(this is his outfit. i couldn't find a pic with the flannel around his waist so this will have to do.)

I walked into the kitchen and my mom kissed my cheek and gave me a plate of blue waffles.

"Did Paul already leave?" I asked her.

"Yeah, and you should too if you want to make it on time."

I nodded and wolfed down my food.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I got out of my car and walked to the school entrance. Okay, not walked, more like ran.

It's kind of a habit since I'm always late to class.

I went down a hallway and saw all my friends talking to a girl with brown hair.

She turned around and I was struck by her beauty.

She had curly brown hair pulled into a high pony. Blue eyes that showed hint of concealment. Her sun-kissed skin shined as her pink lips made a perfect 'O' as she saw me. She was wearing a green crop hoodie with ripped jeans and white sneakers.

I ran faster and found myself staring at her.

Everyone was silent.

I broke the silence.

"Am I late?"

"Nah, you're on time." Nico answered.

I took a step closer to the girl about to introduce myself when a girl with black spiky hair hugged me.

When she pulled away I realized it was my cousin, Thalia Grace.

"Percy, you're attending Goode?" she asked me.

The girl with brown hair just looked at us in confusion.

"Yup, I have been for all of last year. Where were you?"

"Here and there, with my best friend." she replied.

"Who is." I asked.

She grabbed the brown haired girl's hand and pulled her closer.

"Her."

"Hey." she said.

I was about to say something but I couldn't find my voice. Sure, from far away she was pretty, but up close? She was drop-dead gorgeous.

Instead of a few more moments of just staring, Thalia said something to the brown haired girl.

"You know when we were little, we would talk about our family members?"

"Yeah?" she asked.

"And I would tell you about my cousin who was obsessed with blue food, especially blue cookies, and the ocean?"

"Yeah?"

"Well this is him." said Thalia, waving her hands in front of me.

"Blue cookie monster, Kelp Head, and my cuz, Percy Jackson."

That's what jarred me back to reality. (anyone get that?... no... okay)

"That's me." I held out my hand for her to shake it. "And you are?"

Then Leo started looking so excited, well more excited than usual.

"It's The One and Only An-"

The brown haired girl looked scared. She shook my hand quickly and said, "Thea Channabes."

I smiled at her while she turned around and started facing my confused friends.

"Ringgggggg."

"Well, I better get to class." Me and Thea both said.

I blushed but turned away quickly and walked to English.

And Thea was heading that way too.
