It took Calia a mere five seconds for her ears to stop ringing. Another for her Fae abilities to kick in again and jump up into a fighting position. Naomi's blood-red hair and pale skin glistened in the moonlight as her form became corporal. As she gathered her strength again to hurt Calia. She did not dare look away from the girl even though her friends were on the ground—slowing healing from what she could tell from the corner of her eye. Calia wondered how the tiny dead girl with a white lacy dress managed to do that, but then again, anything was possible in her newfound life.

"I did not murder you." Calia replied calmly.

Naomi seethed as she jumped toward Calia once more. She blocked her with her agility—a useful tool she learned with Soari and her family. Then, she kicked Naomi's bare feet until she fell down to the grass, allowing Calia to get on top of her so she would calm down and stop fighting her. Next to her, Arzhel and the others started to get back up which sent a shot of relief through Calia. "I've got her."

"Why did you do it?" Naomi cried as her hands started flailing around her. But Calia used every bit of her strength to keep her still. "You killed me!"

"I did not kill you, Naomi Green!" Calia yelled back. The dead girl shut up after that. There was a possibility that Naomi did not remember anything before she died. She probably did not know about Coach Gideon and what he did to her. But Calia remembered everything. She was the one who found her body that night. Gods, thinking about what he did to her broke her into a million tiny pieces. "Listen to me closely. Your mind is currently keeping you safe by not letting you remember what happened the night you were murdered. And for that, I want to destroy him again. But I was not the one that hurt you. Coach Gideon took you captive and killed you, Naomi. I'm sorry."

Naomi blinked a couple of times, her body solid. Calia slowly peeled off of her and guided her back up into a standing position. From Naomi's tiny frame and blotches of red across her chest, she wished she could have saved her from Gideon.

"Yeah," she mumbled. "You were a threat to me."

Calia nodded once. "Gideon was obsessed with my mother for a long time until she died. I took her place when I came to Solasta." It was easy enough to recall the traumatic experience of a dead girl who was murdered by him because at least Naomi understood. Even if her brain is blocking her trauma, she still feels numb. Sometimes, Calia wished she did not remember what she went through all those weeks ago. She sniffed and used her healing power to fix her broken jaw. "Every person I interacted with, whether a friend or foe, was a threat to him. He wanted to keep me for himself. And he almost did. I am a victim, too."

Tears sprang from Naomi's turquoise eyes. "But you survived. You're alive."

"I'm sorry."

Finally, Naomi glanced around her to where the orphan misfit club stood—ready to pounce if she attacked Calia again. One misstep and the ghost of a girl would be a goner. Well, for the final time. Calia watched her closely and it was almost terrifying the way Naomi Green changed from a murdered victim to another monster with no heart. She stopped crying at once as her stained red lips curled into a villainous smile that could make anyone run the other way. Unfortunately for Calia, she was too experienced with that smile and kept her feet in the same damn spot. "He told me you would try and convince me."

"What the fuck?" Lottie muttered. "Are you kidding me?"

Calia frowned. "Who are you referring to?"

Naomi raised an eyebrow. Before she could do anything, the dead girl pushed her to the ground and started punching her in the jaw where it almost healed. Then her gut. Her pelvis. Everywhere, her bones began breaking as silver blood leaked out like a fucking waterfall. Her friends were groaning in pain as if they were pushed back by Naomi's unknown power. As if she was slowly killing them from the inside out.
