As soon as she opened her eyes, Calia felt different. It was strange. It was as if her body wasn't really hers and she was an imposter. She turned her body around, turned on her phone, and blinked a few times as she stared at the date at the top of the screen. October thirtieth. It was known as All Hallows Eve, where the spirits used to come out and play but no longer. Now, it was a celebration for all the kingdoms.

It was known for every immortal creature to feel the powerful effect of their desires today, which was why her lightning began humming beneath her skin. Calia felt the vibrations of her thunder becoming increasingly worse since she woke up minutes ago and had no idea what to do. She instantly got out of bed and ran to the bathroom, and froze as she stared at herself in the mirror. Her silver hair was glowing white around her and matched with her eyes that were brighter than they ever were and didn't seem to go away. Calia's power was in full force even though there were no dangers on the horizon. This happened the night Gideon was killed. She couldn't forget the look of terror on his face when she struck him with her lightning. Gods, she hoped to do it again for the final time

Be wary of this day, Calia Nox. Do not reveal yourself to those you do not trust. They will stab you in the back as they always do.

She frowned. The voice that spoke in her mind was not the chilling vibrations of her thunderstorms speaking to her but a different one. This voice was serene like a siren, and she almost wanted to hear her again. Yes, it was a woman speaking to her, but who was it?

We will meet soon, my love. Everything will make sense in due time. Be patient.

Calia sighed as she heard the voice again and was two seconds away from asking her who she was when she heard a knock from the other side of her bathroom door. She didn't even realize she closed it behind her. "Hello?"

"It's me. Arzhel. May I come in?" he asked.

"Yes," she whispered. She had forgotten how hoarse her voice was, and when she peeked closer, she saw a bruise in the shape of a handprint around her neck, and memories flooded back instantly. Images of Gideon's spirit choking the life out of her and forcing her to the ground while others were struck down within seconds. Calia shook her head to try and erase it, but it stayed there, lingering in her mind like her own personal shadow. She turned around as Arzhel pulled the door open and managed to curl her lips into a small smile. "Hi."

He smiled back, but she could tell he was faking it. Just as she did with her own. "Hey," he murmured as he stopped in front of her and wrapped his muscled arms around her waist. Arzhel didn't even seem terrified of her body lighting up or that it might cause him harm. "Happy All Hallows Eve. Are you doing okay?"

"I think so," she frowned. "I feel strange. The buzzing of my storms seemed to be at an all-time high, and then I heard a woman's voice speak in my mind." As if she hadn't been told that numerous times since she found out about her true nature.

"Hmm," he said. "Interesting."

"How so?" she raised a brow.

"I wondered how today would affect you. So many others did, too, but they weren't the ones that saw you in your true form. It would make sense that your powers would make your body light up like this, as it did that night," Arzhel confessed. He pulled her closer and gave Calia a quick peck on the cheek, and she instantly blushed. It sent her thunder into a frenzy, and she sighed at the sensation he gave her. "It's magnificent. So are you, genius."

She smirked. "You're not even going to ask about the female voice I heard?"

"What did she sound like?"

Finding the right words to describe the voice she just heard took her a moment. It was regal and ancient, like Zale Nox. It didn't make sense. She sighed before shaking her head once, deciding she didn't want to get into it right now. "It's not important right now. Let's celebrate Hallows Eve. When does the party start?"
