I Know The End
"Wake up!"
I jolted upwards when I felt hands on my shoulders, shaking me out of my sleep. I shrugged the hands off of me, my surroundings slowly coming into focus when I realized where I was. I found myself staring up at Veronica who smiled brightly down at me. I groaned as I looked away from her. My head was heavy, feeling like I was coming out of a heavy fog.
"You good Lily?" Veronica asked, her voice was soft, laced with concern.
I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes before looking around the library, the familiar sent of old books and dust filled my nose. When my gaze focused on Veronica she was already sitting in front of me.
"Yeah I'm fine," I stared blankly at her, "what are you doing here?" I asked curiously, her sudden interest in me made me curious, what could she possibly find so interesting about me?
"I'm here to bring you to lunch, you were supposed to sit with us remember?" She reminded me, her brown eyes stared at me waiting for me to answer.
"Oh yeah, sorry I forgot" I lied. I didn't forget, I just didn't feel like conversing with people, I never did.
"You forgot? How?" She questioned me, her brow raised.
"I don't know? I'm just so used to eating in here I came here on instinct." I came up with an excuse that hopefully she would believe, she seemed like she did because she nodded in understanding. She got up from her chair and rounded the table, grabbing my arm and pulling me up.
"What are you doing?" I asked, once again feeling violated by her grabby hands.
"Taking you to lunch of course?" She said like it was the most obvious thing ever, which I guess it was. I wanted to rip out of her hold but I didn't, I accepted my fate and followed behind Veronica, feeling very unfamiliar with actually talking to people.
When we reached the cafeteria I felt a strange wave of deja vu attack my senses. The cafeteria was always where things happened, there weren't any adults monitoring the room so everyone felt like it was ok to do whatever they pleased. Meaning that Karissa and Jamie had a free for all with me. As we walked through the room, passing tables of students all chatting and laughing. We passed a certain table I remembered all too well from when I was forced to sit with Karissa and her stupid side kick Jamie, where they belittled me, made fun of me, and picked out every single thing that was wrong with me, and I couldn't leave, I literally was forced down.
