"Get out of here, Jeremy! You're not old enough to play with us!" Christina's voice echoed sharply in the hallway.
"Why?" I asked, my voice small, as I looked up at her, eyes wide with curiosity.
"Because you're a freak." She spat out, her words cutting through me like a knife.
"Yeah a weird little freak!" Micheal added, his words stung just as badly.
"We don't hang out with freaks." Christina crossed her arms tightly across her chest. Glaring down at me like I was dirt.
"But I want to play." I said quietly, I didn't know why my older siblings didn't like me, I just wanted to play with them.
"No one wants to play with you loser, get out of here before we catch your freak disease!" Kelly shouted from inside the room her voice was distant but no less hurtful.

"Mommy!" I ran into the kitchen, clutching onto my favorite stuffed animal like it was a shield.
"What is it now Jeremy?" Her voice was laced with irritation, she was busy scrubbing dishes, not even glancing in my direction.
"They won't play with me." I explained to my Mother like it was the end of the world, because to me, it was. They don't want to play with me anymore.
"They don't play with toys anymore Jeremy, they are too old and you are too young." Her tone was strict, it made my stomach twist. I didn't like when Mother got angry.
"I'm 6 Mommy, i'm super old!" I tried my very hardest to convince her that I was old enough to play with my siblings.
"I don't have time for this Jeremy, go play with Blake and Brooke." She finished washing the dishes and made her way over to my little brother who sat in his high chair, food smudged all over his little face.
"But there too little! They don't know how to play my games." I crossed my arms sitting down hard on the kitchen floor. A knot of anger growing inside me.
